Help w/Joey Mod, Irvine

Hey all,

I'm asking for a friend who wants to ask but is too shy to do so. Is anyone in or around/near Irvine, CA experienced with doing the Joey Mod for the headlights? If so, would you be willing to help us do the mod on his Mini Cooper S? He's pretty broke, but he'll pay if you help him out.

Thanks guys.

If you really want it done, you can ship the headlights to me and I'll do it for him and ship it back. Its a longshot, but I figure noone else is lending a hand, and since I've done mine with relative ease, I wouldn't have a problem helping someone else do one. I'm in CT is the only problem.

email me erik.kong88 [at] gmail.com if you are interested

Its actually pretty easy, just get them off the car bake them on the oven for 5 mins at 250 degrees and take them apart. paint them, let them dry, put it back together and bake them again for 5 mins at 250 degrees and put them in the car. I did them in like 4 hours. the scary part is the baking but other than that is a piece of cake.

+1. First time I did it it took me a weekend just because I wanted to take my time. The 2nd time I did it, it took me 3 hours. It's really easy, just take your time.

How do you deal with moisture getting inside?

the headlights aren't airtight to begin with, as if you see the cap in your fender to access it to change a bulb, its not air tight.
