Hi all,

We just got a new 2010 MCS about 2 months ago. We are not liking the orange color of the interior lights (instrumentation, etc.). Has anyone attempted changing the color of the guage lights and instrumentation lights? Maybe like a bright white or violet?

Any advice would be appreciated!

I have seen a thread on it but can not seem to find it right now but it can be done. But it is not easy the light is produced by LED's and they are soldered into the circuit board behind the gauge face.

Search the mods section and you will find it. It may take a while to find though.

 

I thought I read somewhere on here that the 2nd Gen MINIs had the ability to change their colors! Some little gizmo that's supposed to be hear the map lights??? If I find the thread, I'll post it. I wanted to change my interior lights, too, but the 1st Gens don't have that feature.

 

That's just for the mood lighting. If I found that magic switch I would jump for joy! I don't think it exists. The one by the map lighting controls just the mood lights.

 

2nd gens have mood lighting in the door handles, B-Pillars and overhead console. That is the only lighting that can be changed by the switch and the re are only 5 colors. The normal Dash Lights can not changed by a switch, but only by replacing the LED's behind the gauge cover.
