Shift **** Inlay

Hi all. I recently ordered the checker pattern shift **** inlay from OutMotoring for my Cooper S. I received the part, but it totally looks too small. I have about an eighth of an inch of gap all around the inlay. It doesn't even come close to fitting flush with the chrome trim ring. I sent it back, but the customer service said that it is the right part, but that I need to remove the stock inlay for installation. However, the instructions that came with the part said to just stick down over the stock inlay, not to remove it. Has anyone ordered one of these for their R56 and had any success with them?

I do know the R53 **** is a smaller inlay area. I bought some of these for a few custom ***** I made, and know for a fact they are too small for R56's. Not only that, but the radius/dome part is different. Were there two sizes to order from? I thought these were R53 only. I guess I'm not much help, good luck.

I don't believe the R56 factory **** can be taken apart and reassembled.

You might want to consider a custom engraved stainless steel **** from Doug Whalen. Far superior to the plastic factory ****.

Robin,

You are supposed to sell him one of yours. Much nicer IMHO than the metal ones.

Or are you not selling them any more.

I no longer pay the vendor fees, so can't speak of such things.
