Smoking tail light turn signal. Anyone done this? Photoshop inside.

I was thinking of ordering some of the red/clear taillights, and opening them up and just smoking the white part in the tail light for the turn signal.
Perhaps also smoking the red part very lightly while in there and making the chrome part inside dark also.
I was wondering if anyone had done this and decided to throw together a very crude photoshop of what I thought it would look like.
This doesn't look the best but you get the idea.
Anyone have actual pictures from doing it?

(I don't know whose car I photoshopped just one i found with clear taillights and sorry that the thread title is just long and strange)

Why not just tint the lens with some LaminX?

Lots of folks have done that.

I think I will in october. I'll dig up this thread and post them when I do. I think it would look classier to have the inside done and leave the outer lense clear than the laminx. Even though that looks good as well. I want to go for something else.

I would recommend that while you have the lens off, do the tail light joey mod to get rid of that chrome as well.

I did it to my lights, but I tinted the entire thing. Not just the turn signal. Also painted the chrome black.
