Sliders for aftermarket seats?

Hi guys I just ordered up a set of Recaro Pole Positions for my car and I plan on running them with the OEM 3pts ...so with that said I had ordered the recaro alum side mounts, but I still need sliders and floor mounts. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Also anyone have any ideas on how to keep the passenger airbag working?

and where can I get the resistors for the side airbags?

I found the answer to the sliders question.

Most aftermarket seats are like this:

Seat > Side Mount > Slider > Bracket

You will need all 4 parts to make your new seats mount and function like your OEM seats. In addition you will be losing your side air bags and will need some resistors to put in the air bag plug to keep the SRS system operating correctly as if the air bag light is one the rest of your system many not work.

Another thing to note is that you should buy sliders that match your seat. If you buy Recaros for example you NEED Recaro specific sliders, as I Sparco sliders or other brands will not work due to the different widths.

Now it comes down to the brackets that the sliders mount to. Many of the seat companies make specific brackets for the Mini however they are not always in stock or depending on what your looking for may not have all the options you want.

If you looking to keep your seat belts (your OEM 3 points) you will need a mounting bracket that will have the mount for this. Both Speedware Motorsports, and VAC Motorsports have brackets that can support the seat belt.

Now my question is will the R53 mounts work on the R56? Most of the companies I called didnt seem to know.

So I asked this question in this thread:

For the drivers seat, you also need to be concerned with the seat position sensor. It is located on the inboard slider rail on the stock sliders. I have recently installed a Sparco Evo2 Plus on the drivers side (passenger side is this weekend). I would recommend using the Brey Krause brackets, they bolt onto the stock sliders eliminating the need for the aftermarket bracket and sliders. So the install looks like this:

Stock Sliders -> Brey Krause Bracket -> Seat

You will need to slot some of the holes on the bracket as they were designed for the R53, but they work and will allow you to keep the seat position sensor to eliminate unnecessary lights.

Oh damn ... is the seat position sensor new for the R56???

Also what did you do about the weight sensor on the passenger side? I want to make sure my air bag will work for my passenger.

First, PM sent with cell to make this a little easier.

For the benefit of everyone though, the seat position sensor is new for the R56's it consists of a sensor fixed to the sliding part of the seat rail and a magnet fixed on the base portion. This tells the airbag to fire one of 2 different charges, one for up close and one if you are sitting farther back.

For the passenger seat, I intend on removing the airbag sensor from the stock seat and inserting it onto my Sparco. Without the airbag seat sensor none of the passenger side airbags work.

NOTE: I do not work for Mini nor any dealership. These comments are based upon my experience with the seats and their electronics as well as information I have gathered from wiring diagrams and other sources. These comments are based on things I have personally done to my car. DONT GET PISSED at me if you get an airbag light. The electronics on these cars with respect to the safety devices are super fussy.

You still need the resistors, that part hasn't changed.

I finished the passenger seat installation tonight. I took pics of the installation so that I can do a write up. Here are a couple of pics of the installed seats. I have no airbag lights, and the passenger seat sensor works!
