Headlight ring removal

Im getting ready to remove my lights and paint the insides. In doing so, i want to paint the rings while im at it with some Plastidip. My question is, i kinda got it figured out how to remove the lamps, But do the rings just snap back into place ? Or do i have to use some silicone to re-apply them ?

double stick tape holds them in ALONG with the clips that are VERY easy to break.

to remove, best to start from the bottom three clips, get those undone, then slide it upwards. the OEM double stick tape will make it hard to slide it off but it'll come off if you keep working it.

3 bolts on the back. Open the hood and look behind the lights. Should see them pretty easily.

If I happen t change my mind and want to remove the rings and washer cover without removing the light, how would I do this without breaking it? Where are the tabs located? Do I just pry it out?

You have to remove the light to get the rings off

When you take the light out, you'll see the tabs

use a flathead to carefully pry the rings off the light, work your way around it

The ring is stuck on with double sided tape, so just prying at the tabs won't get you far. You must be very careful thanks to the tenacity of the tape.
