Oh geeze, I guess I'll just buy some damned plasti-dip after all. I was all ready to spring for these pieces but don't see the point if it's going to take 6 months to get them. Better plasti-dip while the weather is still warm and it can set up.

Try 23 weeks! I ordered on February 26! I got an e-mail in May saying they were almost ready and what sticker did I want on my emblem covers. Haven't heard anything since.

callahan00, minspeed.net has prepainted gas caps and taillight rings. I got them for mine and they look perfect. The headlight rings chip easily, which is why I'm trying AC's covers. I should have just gone with vinyl wrap for those and my door handles. A little more expensive, but I would have been done months ago.

Thanks. I saw them on MinSpeed. The main thing I was interested in was the door handles since there is no other easy solution to do body colored handles. My grill surrounds and Headlight rings were from Vinyl Styles and are a pretty good match.

I'd be very interested in what their manufacturing process is. I am curious if these are vacuum formed or what. I know that they are a one or two person operation but I have not placed an order because of the wait time on these parts. I really can't afford to have $300.00 tied up for 6+ months

The products I've gotten from them in the past have been great. However, I think they got in over their heads with these parts.

WYSIWYG,

I ordered on Feb 27 and talked to Mike July 31. He said mine were going out Aug 3. Still no shipping notice and no parts.

Wonder if this response will get pulled like the last one........

Hey guys I just wanted to give you a quick update. This will probably be my last post as well since I really don't have te to get on here and update you all the time. It's easier just to update my website every couple weeks.

Anyway. We are getting caught up now. The only parts that are still behind are the painted kits witch we took off the website and will be now offering as preped for paint parts.

These parts are still in the testing faze which is why it has been taking so long to get them out to people. That and the demand for these parts are off the charts.

Another big obsticle are the R56-55-57 headlight rings. They were changing shape in the process of molding the parts so we had to redesign the mold. Should be fixed by the time I get back from MITM.

For those of you that are still waiting on your parts we are still working to get you the best product on the market and that does take time. There is no sense in rushing through to get parts out to you when they are not 100%.

We did ship out about 20 parts last week and that made a big dent.

If I talked to you about your parts being ready then they will be going out or already have. If you have comfort access then that is a step I will have to do when I get back. I know I have about four sets with comfort access to do.

For the rest of you that have not ordered our wait time is down to about 6 weeks which is normal in this type of product so don't be afraid to order. We get 2-3 full package orders every week so don't wait until we get "caught up"

We are in the final stretch folks so stay patient and we will get through this.

Cheers

That's good to hear.

So please let us know when the 'Prepped for painting' pieces are available for ordering and I'll be placing an order that day.

Got mine in yesterday! Pieces look and fit great.. I'll post up pics after I have a chance to wash it up. Was worth the wait to not have to deal with the door handles and gas cap.

Went to their site and it looks like the entire kit isn't available for 2nd Gen, due to problems with headlight rings.

Can't wait to see those pictures! Hopefully from many different angles!

TJTull- I think it was mentioned earlier in the thread that they were having issues with the mold.

Here's some pictures for you guys.. sorry didn't get any closeups of the MINI emblem cover. In case the questions come up.. HL rings, grille, and side scuttles were vinyl wrapped by vinyl styles. Door handles, emblems, and gascaps are the molded parts by AC. Oh and I know there were concerns, or reports of the handles not completely covering the chrome.. this was not the case with mine, very nice fit and it covers all the chrome.

STVCobra,
Great looking car! I really like the stripes. I had my grill surrounds painted and they are chipped pretty badly. I need to check out the parts from VS.

Thanks, I see that now. It's just that I've been ready to pull the trigger on these several times now and each time there has been some setback (overly long shipping, now headlight rings not available). I still want to order these so I hope they get the mold squared away.

If I were you, I'd do like I did.. have the headlight rings and any other parts that you can have vinyl wrapped and then get the door handle molded parts ordered now. They'll get them to you eventually, and the faster you order the faster you'll get them.

You're probably right about that. Now I'm torn between flat black and gloss. I bought and installed the gloss black grill surround replacement and my stripes are gloss black...so I might go that direction.

Hey guys I just wanted to give an update on the parts. We are trucking along on all the molded parts right now. We have Bits and pieces of about 30 orders that we need to finish getting all the parts for.

2nd Gen MINIs we have come up with a solution for the Headlight rings but this will require a full replacement. Since the orders have already been place we are covering the cost of the replacement rings for the orders that were placed. However it would be very helpful to us if when you get your parts you would send us your Old headlight rings.

Everything else is still working just fine.

Also anyone with Comfort Access Door handles that has already received their parts will be getting an envelope in the mail soon. Keep an eye out for it. This contains a 3D domed sticker to stick on to your door button. This will make the button protrude from the molded handle for easy access to unlock and lock you doors.

OK that's it for now.

I was always skeptical on the door handles, but the ultra-closeup shot was extremely helpful! I might just place an order here fairly soon!

I think the wait time may be over 6 weeks, because I ordered about 8 weeks ago and emailed for a status update saying i'm around 30th in line. Just FYI.

I was planning on canceling my order, but I fear I'd have to contest it with paypal or my C.C. which would be a pita. Should have just ordered from Vinyl Styles with these wait times

These are a great concept. It is a shame that they do not have the resources or capacity to fill demand in a timelier manner.

I would really like to know what manufacturing process they are using. It seems if these were vacuum molded they could crank these out in fairly large batches. If they are making these by hand, they really need to rethink their process. I, like many others was very excited with the concept of the parts but have been somewhat jaded by the prospect of waiting for six plus months . All i wanted is the door handels but chrome handles are begining to look more and more appealing
