Rear Seat Delete

Does anyone have any pictures of any rear seats delete besides this one? Anyone do any custom rear seat deletes?

I am looking to remove my rear seats and looking for some options.

I think most of the kits out there look like that one. You can also get it with gromits for racing harnesses also. You could go another rout and get a custom one made. I'm working on getting one made from CF. you could also make your own. I think waverlyn (SP?) has a kit that is more like a carpet. it doesn't make a shelf, but in stead looks like it just covers the floorboard where there isnt any carpet etc etc.
good luck!

There are a lot of creative rear seat deletes built by lots of NAM members. Do a search. I have the one from rearseatdelete.com in mine and I love it, but I also don't have a lot of time to get creative.

That's a great solution. Level boot space, great looking CF, and less weight!

I have a custom one made by a local MINI Owner for his MINI. He sold his MINI and I got the RSD he made. He made it out of aluminum plate then glued fabric to it. I'll clean out my MINI and take some pics to post Thur.
It's really simple and could be copied in whole or part.

While not deleting the rear seats as sometimes there is a need for granchildren, I crafted, with the rear seats folded down, a leather cover for the cargo area that also hinges for the boot box. Drop me a PM and I will send some pictures and "how to".

This is outstanding work . If they were production pieces I am sure he would have a long list of possible new owners. Really nice job .

I took the free approach and just left the bench in after the seat backs were removed.

From my audio build thread.

I have covers to hide the amps and subs when I want to carry things.

I deleted seat and added full size spare

Ihave a 2006 MCS and i deleted the rear seat, after looking at available options and fitting the tire and wheel, I used the center seat belt mounting point as the anchor to secure the wheel from moving around. During this process I also dynamatted the entire back seat area. and put a closely matching piece of carpet under the wheel/ and covered the tire, but not the flame spoke wheel with a generic vinal tire cover to keep stuff from turning black
This set up leaves the back boot area completly open, I can put both seats all the way back for tall drivers, and on either side of the wheel/tire there is ample room to wedge in a few soft sided duffel bags

I like seeing the variety of options people have come up with for rear seat deletes. Any idea how much weight is shed by removing them, (if any)? I see that the kit from RSD.com removes about 36 lbs., but didn't know if the carbon fiber versions, for example, remove more.

Also, is there more exhaust and road noise present? I would think so. So adding dynamat would probably be advised, right? (But dynamat is heavy stuff, and could add back some pounds, I'd assume)...

Hmmm.
