I used dynomat for sound, but it was not alot louder without it. It's not that heavy either, but if shaving weight is the goal, nix the sound insulation and get on a diet!

 

Here's my recently competed one. I wanted a place to carry my spare, and went for a retro look with the leather belts for tie downs. Has plenty of storage underneath for my jack, tool kit, and cleaning supplies. I wanted to remove the seat belts completely, but after removing the side panels, and seeing the gas pretensioner cylinders, I decided to just hide them behind the panels.

 

The link in my signature shows mine. I have a spare tire and some other essentials under there. I don't think I achieved any weight improvements since I put in a lot in place of the seats. Mine is made of wood with carpet tiles for the cover. I did not do any sound dampening, and I think it's only louder because the seat backs (obviously gone) do not block noise coming from the exhaust.

 

So i like all the creative ideas for rear seat delete kits and custom mods! but i was wondering if anyone has taken the rear seat out and made it into a bench seat for there home or garage? wanted to know what people thought about that idea?

Been done already....Seen bench seats used for porch funature to livingrooms.....most times it's accompanied with the likes of a working TV sitting on top of a broken console TV, and a hound dog taking a nap nearby on the livingroom floor.......

 

So what ever happened to Carbonized and the possibility of having these excellent RSD's mass produced? His original thread was over 2 years ago. By now he could have patented his design, sold it to an aftermarket company who could mass produce them in China and he could be kicking back and living large.

More importantly, we could all be rocking these
