I have seen one and sat in one.

Look in my gallery and you will find pictures of it.

It was very very very very very very (okay add 100 more to that) difficult to get in and out of.

Also there had to be movement of the side marker lights as the hinge set up is in the way of the original location of the side marker light.

The car sort of looked nice but really was very impractical. and let me tell you it did not look $1899 better.

This is the reason I'd rather post on the m l u. Some people on NAM are just rude, for no reason.

Anyways, I didn't realize it was difficult to get in and out. But That doesn't look to bad on that MINI, I just don't like that body kit. However, if it is not functional then it's most likely not worth it.

Here are some pics

This shot does not show it well but there was only about 22" between the door and the body. that is very tight. I wish i had a shot of someone actually trying to get in. but i can not find one.

Here is just another shot of the same car

Looks a bit like an insect with its wings opened up to catch more sunlight.

MINI Madness sells them and showed them at some events I've been too.

You need to be rail thin to use them.

It's not my cup of tea, but hey if it fits the theme of the other mods and you have 2K + install money burning a hole in your pocket then go for it. The only one you need to impress is yourself.

well put gnatster...but yeah, that is just not functional or practical if the opening is too small to get out of.

Yes, it was at MOT 08. That car won the performance mod category in the concourse contest.

Other contestants won for best electronics sound system, cleanest car (mine - Swiss Miss), dirtiest car, best theme car, and i can not remember the other categories. There was also a raffle for a two year lease on a Mini Clubman, as well as many accessories.

Here comes the shameless plug.

If anyone here has not been you should try to make it next year. There was Friday evening activities, Saturday activities all day and late into the evening, and some people even made plans to get together on Sunday.

There was a lot of great looking cars there even the dirtiest one, and we all had a great time.

BAHAHAHAHA! I just stumbled across this forum...one word. Hilarious. The comments and the main idea are priceless! I love the "tone" comments too. Everyone's being such smart a--es...

Anyway. I have two legitimate comments. Putting scissor doors on a MINI COOPER (in my opinion) is just as whack as putting a BMW logo on the hood instead of the Mini wings. Call me a hypocrite because I replaced my wings, but it's because I'm in the Air Force...No posing going on. However, Mini Coopers are all about originality, so if having one isn't enough, go for the lambo look!

Secondly. If you're going to customize the doors, the only thing I think MIGHT look alright (please comment...) is suicide doors. Suicide doors are one of those things that only look good on two door cars, there's hardly any out there (except on some ricers), and I think bringing back the vintage look may be cool. It's very subtle too, so not too much "attention grabbing" going on. My girlfriend says the old high-rise pants are coming back in fashion for women, why not suicide doors for men? haha.
