Scoop is ABS plastic, hood is metal and both contract at different temps....just wondered if the "bondo-filler" was going to crack around the edges.

Did you use Rage Gold, or something similar to that?

The right body fillers will expand/contract and maintain flexibility with the dissimilar materials, and should not be a problem if performed correctly

Rage gold is more of a last-step filler.....not as much an adhesive. They probably used an adhesive for the initial bonding and filling and THEN smoothed it off with Rage or something similar

My guess is they used one of the 3m adhesives or perhaps Fusor.

I don't remember the exact products. We contacted the 3M rep through the body shop and he came out and showed us what we needed. I can say it's held up quite well. There was a little shrinkage after it was finished and fully cured. We were warned of that and told to paint thicker in those areas and come back in 6 months to buff the contraction marks out. Once that was completed it takes a good eye in direct light at the right angle when the car is perfectly clean to notice anything was filled.

One item was big bucks, some type of two part adhesive that came in a big syringe. Other products hardened to a light grey or green or reddish.
