well... as i was repairing some minor dents on my hood today, i got this crazy idea of moding the hood scope to the hood and weld shut the front badge holes.i wasnt sure how it would turn out and to find out, i went ahead and did it. i don't think anyone have done this to their minis and i think it gives a clean smooth look. my car hasnt been painted yet ,so i photoshoped this pic to show how it will look. i kinda like it. the front end of the mini S has always been little too busy for my taste. this cleans it up a bit. (i've also slamed the car and added some camber to the back. )
well i weld shut the holes. but i could stil put the badge back on if i want to. i just have to break of the line up legs off the badge. AND i have the options to put it anywhere . ha

You could cut the stems off the emblem and use 3m double sided sticky tape.. thats what I did and works awesome
The molded in scoops look great - wish I'd done that when I shaved my front badge. Note xpel sells a clearbra pattern with the front badge cutout deleted - i have it.
Here is mine but I shaved a whole lot more and I did it with the DFIC Scoop as well (mine is the dark silver):
The only regret I now have is not having the upper grill fused to the hood and painted to go with it. I think it would have given it a very mean and agressive look in the end. With all the other seams being removed all over the car I seemed to have left that one out.
Especially when you see Tuls car next to mine has the trim of the grill painted that just looks better to me.
I agree. I'm half yeah and half no. I thought I'd be all for it, but there's something missing. It does look smooth though. Maybe it's the size of it. With a seam it looks larger, now that it's blended it looks kinda smallish?
I like it but Nate's car seems to look better than the others....I think it has something to do with the m7 grilles. It just doesnt seem right to clean up the hood like that and then leave those bland boring aero grilles in place. I'd definitley follow in Nate's steps if I was to ever do it and do the grilles along with it....otherwise for getting creative and thinking outside the box.
Did you do that venting work ??? That is wicked awesome!!!!
If Gnatster's car is the one I'm thinking of, I believe he cut the vents out of a Triumph TR7 hood and welded them into appropriately-sized holes he cut in the MINI hood:
