Sport Stripe width and gap?

Sorry for the double post - I put something similar in the Clubman forum, then realized I might get wider coverage here...

Wondering if any of you with the sport stripes option can tell me:

1) what the width of the stripes are, and
2) what the spacing/gap in between the stripes are

This option is not available in Canada, and want to pass the specs to a local vinyl installer.

My thanks in advance!!

I've got the optional sport stripes from '07 that I think you are talking about. I just went out and measured them and snapped a quick pic.

Each stripe is 5.25" wide and the gap between is 1.125". I didn't have my calipers handy for metric, but if you need it I can find them.

Hey thanks lagrasta! I appreciate you taking the time to do that!!

I got a slightly different measurement from the guys in the Clubman forum, which I'll just chalk up to measurement and installation tolerance...

You've got me in the ballpark.

Thanks again!!

P.S. nice lookin' MCS!!

Distance between 1.75" and Width 5.5" - I measured Mini's on the BMW lot that had the stripes before I had mine painted on.

Those stripes look nice. Mine are actually starting to yellow and peel. I was thinking of having them painted on instead. Do you have any tips?

Had to have my stripe redone as the front, bonnet, roof, and driver's side were repainted after a tip-over. I asked the body shop about painting them on instead of vinyl. This shop is a block away from MINI of Mountain View, and used for warranty paint work by the dealer. They are better than factory at getting colors right, and do an excellent job. The guy I worked with owns a MINI. Anyway, he said he would go with vinyl if it were his car. You can always remove it if you change your mind or want a fresh look. Top quality vinyl should last 5-10 years. Cheap stuff 2-3.

Earlier I had priced painting a stripe on bonnet & roof (not boot) and was given a $1,500 quote.

If you go with a stripe like this, you don't have to worry about driving light alignment.

Thanks, the Spot Healing Brush is very useful.

The plate needs replacing. It was crumpled and straightened. Look someone put it on gravel and ran over it with a truck. Thought I'd try to preserve some of that nice texture, rather the Gaussian Blur so often used on TV.

Could get crazy and do a custom set. No need to be like all the rest.
