Ok, that cheap vinyl is gross. Why can't they have used real Leather? I mean even my VW had leather! Enough about the problem...

I'm looking for a solution. I want to replace it with leather that matches my Panther interior but MINI does not offer it even as an accessory. Does anyone know of any third party vendors that offer it? I'm sure I can't be the first person to complain about this.

Thank you!

MINI makes one! I just had it installed tonight infact. It's panther black too. It includes a leather handle and boot (handbrake only--didn't do the CVT **** since it's leather already). I believe they make one for the manual though. The handbrake costed $83, looks good, and makes the MINI smell like new. The one silver is looking at is nice, but doesn't match the panther leather. It's black black. The one from MINI is gray black. Apparently panther black in MINI lingo means gray .

I was at the dealer today and asked if they have one. The photo in the Accessory book looked like it included the boot cover in leather, but the parts guy told me it was only the handle part, not the cover.

Guess I should have made him go get one and show me. UGGGG.. Now I have to go back to the dealer.

Thanks for letting me know!!

No offense, Silver, but I'm not crazy about that Moss stuff. I think it looks kind of cheap with the MINI logo and all...but that's just my unrequested $ .02.

Ryanide, the MINI official photos can be misleading. They only show the handle, so maybe that's why he thought that. But, I can tell you that it includs BOTH the leather handle and the boot. It smells great. I remember nomonstersinme said the dealer only installed the leather boot on her car and she had to go back to the dealer to get the handle. But ya, check this great MINI accessory out.

Ryanide,

Ditto to Cooptime. The $83.00 kit comes with both the gaiter/boot and the handle in leather. I know because not only did my kit (in lapis) come complete with both, but I was at the parts counter when the shipment came in, and I opened the box with the parts dept. manager. The handle also comes with a cap in silver as well as anthracite for different interior choices. They are feeding you a load of BS.

Logo or not, the Moss ones still don't match the "panther black" of the MINI. They are too black.

Thanks!
