resale value on Joey Mod

I figure I'd post here instead of the 2nd gen forum as you guys would have more experience with this. How have those that have done the Joey mod done as far as selling your car? Do you take a considerable hit on a trade-in or private sale (unless to an enthusiast)? Thank you for your input.

Don't bet on mods raising value much...

if anything. Really, things like the light mod really shouldn't be an issue, more red flags are raised in buyers eyes from performance and suspension modifications...

I would be willing to bet that unless you are trading it in at a MINI dealer, no one would even notice. A private buyer might pick up on it if they have done their homework, but if they are looking at them for the first time I bet it would go unnoticed as well.

If resale value is an issue, best advice is keep it stock.

I can't imagine it mattering either way -- just don't do it on a leased car.

bite the bullet and do it, just don't expect to get the cost of the Joey mod back.

... and some of the new cars are coming already done that way... Honda Fit for example... so I agree, most folks won't notice...

Paul, your MINI's gonna be jealous that you're checking out the Hondas that closely.
As for me, the Fit could come standard with a disco ball, and I wouldn't notice.
