I know there's some bad tint and then there's good tint products.

Here in PHX, I'm looking for max heat rejection not privacy.

Anyone know what is the best tint product to use for heat rejection?

Is Luminex Titanium reflective and mirror-like when viewed from the outside?

I'm also looking for maximum solar radiation reduction, but I want it to look like smoke/charcoal tint, not like a mirror (which is illigal where I live).

See ya,
JS

I did a yahoo search and a google and couldn't find anything about this tint. Do you a link to their site or to a site that does a comparison of popular tint brands?

To add to the last post, T & T Tinting is the only authorized Formula One(TM) tint dealer in Hawaii.
I think it's a national chain that meets certain criteria to be able to use high quality film and offer lifetime warranty.(labor and material)

FormulaOne(TM) offers a film with 59% heat rejection and 99% UV protection....the Ultimate 18 (which is not legal in HI, only 35%)

My MCS is tinted using Llumar film
see http://www.jtsound.net/llumar.html
they claim :
Llumar can reject up to 79% of the incoming solar energy,... with 99% ultraviolet rejection.
Works well for me. I have a 1995 Maxima that was done with Llumar and now my 2003 MCS.

For more on Llumar see
http://www.llumar.co.uk/
Llumar is the main brandname of CPFilms.CPFilms is the largest manufacturer in the world of window films.

Llumar films are excellent, had it on my last 6 cars spanning 15 years!

I am thinking of getting window tinting done on my '04 MCS when it arrives but I will do it only on the side glass (Front and back) as I see no need to tint the back window in the hatch (Makes night visibility a real problem).

Llumar films makes a really great quality product, but note that they make a lot of different films. Their professional installer films are much better than those sold in do-it-yourself kits.

Their better-grade films are available in different light-transmitting %'s. We've used darker on the sides and lighter on the rear and front side windows to keep the heat out, but maintain visibility. Talk to your installer.

All that said, I have found I want a dark tint on the rear window because so many large vehicles have their headlights at Mini-mirror height!

Actually I already have tinting done on it, by the dealership. I'm in process of finding out from the dealership what brand and type of tint was applied so I can compare specs and maybe find something better to have it replaced with.

Maybe I already have the best, but I won't know until the dealership can provide some information to me on it.

Do tinters have a device they can use to tell what the specs are?

Happy Motoring!
Dominic
