I bought one of these from american mini mates, I got the "stop" one....only problem is I also have a stock rear wing and having the wing makes it almost impossible installing it without taking the wing off...if you don't have a factory wing than your all set....I guess the "S" wing is a little different than the cooper wings so if you've got an "S" it would pretty easy to install but be careful if you've got a regular cooper....

I've got one on my S... can't decide if I like it or not.

Simple installation, appears to be good quality, I have the Stop version.

My hesitancy is that the red that shows through when lit up isn't very even... there are evidently several small bulbs or LEDs that light up the red cover... when seen through this black mask, it's sort of like the whole word "Stop" doesn't light up evenly, more like there are some very bright spots where the bulbs or LEDs are, and the surrounding areas are darker.... it's a little hard to make out the word Stop... hope I said that clearly enough so you can understand what I mean.

This is my only observation, and I made it in my driveway from about 5 feet behind the car... maybe out on the road, from further away, it's not as bad... or maybe it's worse?

This is just my 2 cents worth. Anybody else?

Whenever I've see these on people's cars, I can never make out the shape when the light is on. Seems like a waste to me, given that, but it DOES show up at close range with the brake light unilluminated, so... It's up to you.

To ease installation, you can take the brake light out. It is only held on by 3 torx screws.

After ImagoX's comments, I think I'm going to take mine off... if nobody behind me can read/recognize it quickly what's the point?

It's a sticker, right? Vinyl?

If sticker, then Goo B Gone.
If Vinyl, then a heat gun.

not sure what to call it, maybe a vinyl sticker?

it had a back paper that I peeled off before placing on the light... instructions said to use some soapy water to wet the light first...

once in place with all the bubbles smoothed out, there was a clear protective sheet on top that was pulled off to reveal the actual sticker/decal/???

I have the Actual Size one...Evidently some folks notice it (I see their lips saying, "What's that say? Actual Size? Funny!" -- HA! Now YOU try reading lips backwards in a mirror!) But not very many people are observant. I never noticed any problems with others seeing the brake light, but just not paying attention to the little details. As soon as I'm presentable this morning and I have an extra set of hands, I'll try to take a picture of it for you.

I agree that it can be hard to make out what it actually says, but since I have a black roof I like that it makes the red lens disappear. Besides, it is a few bucks for a vinyl sticker so what harm can it do?

Sorry it took me so long -- I put two photos in my gallery: one of the mask zoomed in, and the other zoomed out to see all the break lights. I'll take some in the daylight tomorrow...now that it's clean, too!
