Okay, I've searched everywhere and can't seem to find the simple instructions on how to remove the e-break handle and boot. I know you can take off the end cap and the handle will slide off but how do you get the back of the boot off? I could just pull real hard, but I'm afraid I'm going to rip it apart.

Help me please!

The boot is glued to a plastic piece that fits in the trim piece with little plastic clips. You have to pry them out very carefully.

Mini Mania's site has a PDF with e-brake installtion instructions, including removal of the old boot. Look there on the product page for their leather/chrome e-brake handle.

Remove the boot / gaiter by gently prying along the sides first, there will be some plastic clips which are part of the boot frame along esch edge. Gently depress and then push towards the center. They will pop up. Then go to the rear and undo a similar clip. The front will then pop right out as you lift.

I found the handle to be the hardest part by far, and I had to resort to a dremmel tool to remove the center section / rear section connect. Hopefully it was just my car. The removal shouldn't take but a few minutes.

Thanks! Everybody makes it sound so obvious, but since I'm just removing it to paint the silver pieces I couldn't find any info.
