Interior/Exterior OctaneGuy's Jet Black MCS *Custom*

Ok so the car is a "little" dirty--I wiped it before my commute to work and shot these as soon as I arrived. Overall I'm very happy with how it looks. I'm thinking of adding a Ground Dynamics rear diffuser spoiler under the exhaust. Not 100% certain though. This is what it looks like on Cor Blmy's car. Btw, anyone interested in a group buy?? =)

Yeah in quantity, the price goes does pretty significantly. The company is local so I can order them and pick them up. But I'll have to figure out shipping costs etc...--though I know you're relatively local too.
I know!! I know!! I can't stop!! I was supposed to be done after the BBK! Ugh. Do I really need professional help???
Thanks!! I love the tires.---the lug is a wheel lock. They are black so looks like it's missing. I'm looking to replace all my lugs with black ones if I can locate them, lol.

Haha, not that I haven't thought about it---in time, lol.
Our shop did all the paint work. The powder coating was done by one of our partners--if you want something powder coated--stop by the shop, we can do it for you. =) Yorba Linda is right next door.

It's the Mini Fini sport link system. I use both a bike rack and tow hitch for a small trailer. =)
I used this system on my first MINI--an '03 Cooper--and I moved it over to my '05. But you can see my first MINI here with the trailer

And with the bike rack

Ok let me know if you still want one--I inquired with the company about a group buy, and then I decided to just become a dealer for them so I wouldn't have to pay sales tax to them...so I will have them in stock in about a week or so at a VERY good price--especially for SoCal people who pick them up from me. These fit '02-'06 models.
I plan to paint mine Jet Black, so if anyone else want's a Jet Black one--now's the time to tell me so I can do them all at once. Can also do Chili Red so we have both paints here in the shop when my car was worked on.

Oh man, just realized you're in Ohio. lol. When I get them in stock next week, I'll start my research into shipping costs, but I can probably sell the first batch I have for $150 + shipping.
I don't think this would qualify for oversize shipping--so shipping by FedEx Ground shouldn't be bad. I need to see if they come already in a box or not.
Will also have to see how much the DS paint would add. But would be better price if you can find others or one other who want DS too, otherwise the cost of the paint and prep for one at a time will cost more--won't be outrageous, but obviously will cost more for one at a time.

Some new updates....added one LCD headrest monitor for my son on long roadtrips.

Added an infrared audio transmitter

It started off like this

Test fitting--looks a little big--going to be a tight fit, if at all.

Making the X cuts--no turning back now

Just keep ripping the foam out until it fits. The hole needs to be 1/4" smaller so it fits snug. I used Zipties to the headrest posts to hold the monitor in place.
You can see the tilting feature which is why I chose this model. Also that black bezel comes in wood or carbon fiber, lol, though I don't plan on changing it.

Also finalized my Garmin mount design. Doesn't require tools to install or remove. No holes drilled, just fits in an existing OEM location. Can be adjusted height wise as well as angle of view through the ball mount. Utilizes existing Garmin clip holder.
What makes this better than existing mounts?
Rock steady--not flimsy.
Doesn't block access to CD's or controls or displays.
Doesn't block gauges or AC air flow.
Doesn't block the cup holder or tall drinks in the cup holder.
Nuvi antennae can be in optimal horizontal position without hitting the dash.
Keep the Nuvi below the window line so it's less visible to thieves
With the mount removed, there is no evidence of it being installed--telling thieves that you may have one hidden under the seat.
I'm expecting the price to be in the $39 to $49 price range with the adjustable micro ball mount.

Plenty of clearance for the CD's.

Great work, once again. Now I'm going to have to do this. Any details on the headrest video model and where you put the DVD player? Is that infrared transmitter hooked directly to the DVD player?
You mean the MINIFini ports? I like how they stand out though, lol. I'd probably do them red. Of course, I've also considered adding an Aero Kit bumper, and if so would have to do the mod where you drill holes into it.
I photoshoped a photo to see how it COULD look--aerokit bumper in black with red drilled vents. The Minifini ports would have to break through that as well, and black would work well here.

Thanks!!!
I actually posted the details here:

But will repost it here since it makes more sense.

In the continuing saga of trying to keep my son entertained on family road trips, I hung a portable DVD player around the headrest which worked ok until we hit a bump and the screen started to close, or my son was tired of the same DVD and wanted a new one. Our last road trip was a few weeks ago and was a 9 hour drive. With the forthcoming MITM and an 18 hour drive coming up, I decided to take action and installed a headrest LCD monitor for my son. I only did one headrest partially because I wasn't sure if the one I ordered would fit, and also because nobody sits behind me when I drive. The wire is currently pulled down the back cover. I might try to hide it further but for now that's where it's staying.

This display is made by Accelevision and I chose it for the large buttons and tilting display so it didn't matter what angle the seat back was set to. This was the smallest screen I could find--seems most screens are huge these days, and our head rests are tiny! Another thing I wanted was an infrared transmitter in the monitor, but I couldn't find any that were in the 5-6" screen size. And I didn't want to trade my OEM headrest for a fake "custom" headrest that doesn't even use a factory headrest.

Seeing is only part of the battle. Of course he wants to be able to hear the DVD too! While I could channel the audio into the whole car, there are only so many episodes of High 5 I can listen to. So I found a child sized infrared headphone set.
I came across a cool looking transmitter and knew the perfect location.

So now all I need is a DVD player. At first I thought I would use the Toshiba portable player but I found it cumbersome to use. In order to get the video out, I had to hit the MODE button twice. First for AV IN, Twice for AV OUT. But you had to press it and wait until it activated before pressing again. Then I had to deal with power and cables--so I came across a compact DVD player that has a memory as well for restarting after shutting down. I ordered the player and won't have it until the end of the week. I'll have it installed sometimes next week. It'll be going into my glove compartment.

Yep, the transmitter has RCA Left/Right plugs and it goes into the audio output of the DVD player--which should arrive today or tomorrow....right now the plugs are free and I'm plugging in a portable DVD player.

Thanks--I've got a JCW CF Boot Handle on the way for delivery next week. Also will be putting on the Ground Dynamics rear diffuser soon. Thinking of doing it two tone--Thanks Danny (Minicorsa) for the idea--top portion red and bottom portion black--so from the rear you'll just just a sliver of red between the black bumper and black portion of the spoiler.
I am in the process of blacking out my MINI. I have used the Cooper side vents and black crystal lenses. I really like the look of the red and black S vents. I might have to try mine with black and Royal Grey.
BTW... Your wheels are amazing...
