Interior/Exterior OctaneGuy's Jet Black MCS *Custom*
Cool! We'll definitely be in touch.
Gotta to rush home now to meet another customer---lol. My brother's getting his car into the shop for some painting while I'm at AMVIV. LOL.

no worries man. You can't rush paint guys... they just work at their own pace... it's how that game works. IF you rush them you get crap work.
This will be the first of a ton of work I'll ask your guys to do tho... I'll need a front respray like you're in not too long. Looks like they do a heck of a job!

Also, she needs some black WOW.
I am going to say that you are my idol now. Especially since i am fond to the black and red color scheme myself. BTW, the scoop came yesterday. Looks great, thanks for the awesome deal!
Thank you! My shop's pretty far from you--although I know distance has never stopped you before, lol...I'm home on most Sundays--so we can do a quick look then too.
re: BW
Np about that. =)
Hahahaa..(red faced). Cool, glad it arrived safe! You're welcome!

New pictures will be coming soon. I picked up a set of 12.2 Wilwood's in red powdercoat from Todd at TCE in Vegas this past week. I hope to have those installed this week.
My car still needs a lot of TLC now. I still haven't done the final polishing--and in some area--still need wetsanding and compounding due to orange peel. Under my 9x12EZUP, it looked decent though, lol. Will post some pix as soon as I get them from my camera.

Ok for those who attended AMVIV, this is why I was all stressed out and had no sleep prior to driving there---this was Wednesday morning--the day I was to leave, and my car still hadn't been compounded (to remove sanding marks)--nor assembled.
I polished the nearest side before snapping the picture because I was in a rush--that's why it's shiny.

Course this is what the whole bonnet looked like moments earlier

A better shot. A good paint job is only as good as how well it's sanded and polished AFTER it's been painted.

This ALSO needed to be polished

Fortunately, I had some help. Dave here is sanding the orange peel out of the bumper covers for me.

Check out how my door is progressing

Ok a few hours later, and I got the bonnet all compounded

Looking pretty good from both angles

Ok time to start pulling the plastic!

Like unwrapping a Christmas gift!!

Ok, almost there!!

Ok, I'm still totally stressed out now--it's past 2PM and the seats have still not been installed. Fortunately Leo is helping me out now.

Ok, so another reason why I'm stressed, look at my interior! OMG and Leo is outside working on another customers car!!! (sorry no pic--was going nuts now)

Ok time to get my car back together by myself

Ok, all assembled, it's around 11PM, and now time to pack!! See that Porsche back there?? I also worked on that after I finished packing at 1:00AM--until 2:00AM and realized I had to get on the road and if I continued working on it in my current state I was going to make a mistake and damage something, so I left the Porsche until I got back today.
Bought 6 Rockstar energy drinks, and drove for 4 hours until I literally collapsed.

Thanks guys!!! Once I get the car polished, I'll take the most recent up to date pix. It was really dusty and swirly at AMVIV, so I didn't bother taking any then.
Sorry the missing Porsche pic.

It's cool. I should be around all day but give me a call--maybe we can meet around 11AM or so??

You know what the coolest thing about this thread is? You are doing an awesome job of showing what the whole process of painting and detailing is. Thanks for this illumination! A lot of us have been living in the dark…
I didn't get a chance to do more than wave to you as you rolled out of your spot on Sunday, Richard. I wanted to come bend your ear, but you seemed so swamped all weekend. The car looks fantastic.
Thanks for sharing all your knowledge in threads like this and others.
Perhaps I'll bend your ear next year!

Thank you! I always hope people can learn something from what I post.
Oh, I didn't realize you or anyone was looking for me. After fixing Brad's door from several nights of EZUP bashing--looked like nothing else was going on, so I decided to leave. I would have stayed had I known. =)
Here's a few more pix of my car--I took tonight. Got a chance to do some polishing, well a little bit anyways.

Day pix coming tomorrow.

Ok so I got my BBK's installed at Minicorsa today. After the install, I gave my car a good wash and was ready to take pictures--it looked terrific---then realized I lost my camera----accidentally left at Minicorsa!! So pictures will have to wait yet another day!
But cutting directly to the chase, let's compare what the OEM brakes look like compared to my Wilwood 4 Piston's with 12.2 rotors.

The 12.2 isn't all that much bigger over the OEM

Comparing how much clearance with the Wilwood 6 piston on Recoop's MINI that was at the shop that day

Plenty of clearance!

Looking good. Remember to get your finger out of there before you leave.
A note on the zinc plating. May take a few miles of burnishing to wipe it off. I'd suggest after 100mi or so you pull the pads, hand sand them a bit and re install them- however put the inner to the outer and outer to the inside- forcing them to wipe the opposite way. Long story but it's helping prevent the pads from gumming up with the plating.
