Is side scuttle installation easy?

My Pure Silver/Black MCS is landing in port Charleston tommorrow.

I've ordered a pair of blackjack side scuttles and carriers and asked that the dealer not install them, I'd prefer not to pay for installation and like simple tinker jobs.

Has anyone replaced their side scuttles? What tools will I need? If you have images of any accessory scuttles installed please post pics. I haven't seen many "in the wild."

and......first ever post

While I don't have an answer for you I'd like to be the first to welcome you to NAM!

Check out this other post...he doesn't show how to pop them off, but clearly shows how easy it is to put a vinyl sticker on it.

OXYBLUECOOP,

Can you send me the pic?
I think I have the idea down but I'm just being cautious.

Thanks

I might suggest putting a little dab of silicon on the backside to ensure that the center piece does not separate from the outer housing. When I put mine on I lost the center piece on one side. You can't see the silicon and it's just a little insurance policy as these parts are not inexpensive. Fortunately the vendor I bought mine from gave me a replacement pair when I returned the one side I had left so I lucked out. Good luck, it's a real easy job.

Oxybluecoop: Thanks for the video. It takes the fear factor out of messing with my MINI.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a NAM photo/video library of DIY projects?
