"Lloyd" is seated! ALTA Performance / Recaro
OK I know we all hate threads without pics, but I SWEAR it is temporary!
I started the installation of a set of Recaro SPG's in Lloyd tonight! The most significant stumbling block was the Brackets, need to be modded slightly for proper safety and performance of the seat belts. BUT WOW! What a feeling!
The seats with hardware must be at least 20-30 lbs lighter per side! They grip the booty, perfectly for serious driving, while still comfortable to go to the store etc.
Sliders are also included and still allow reasonable access to the rear seats.
I can say that so far I am pleased with the choice, and I look forward to sharing the photos and DIY with you ASAP!
Stay tuned!

Ok I am a super tool (as you well know ) but what is an OC3?
I did mount the seat belt holster and tensioner and reconnect them both to the factory harness. The side air bag is being fooled with a resistor (at least that is the plan) but there is another sensor that I have ZERO clue about that I can't transfer from the OEM rails.
Nearly done, and will publish photos ASAP! Really transforms the car!

SPG Questions
A few questions:
1. What is your price per seat (didn't see one when I linked)?
2. Can you weigh both setups and get an accurate weight savings number?
3. How is the headrest position? I'm fine with the current seats but the headrest juts too far forward causing me neck discomfort so I'm perusing the aftermarket.
Thank you.

Weight will be published when the photos go up. HUGE difference. VERY noticable when moving the stocker in and out, vs. the SPG.
Headrest does NOT jut forward as the OEM seats do. This might be a winner. But the Sport's we also offer may be better as well. I will post with both ASAP. Sorry for the delay folks, just been slammed.
We have another local tech session on Saturday and things r biz-e!
See ya!

Figured it was something like that. Haven't tackled the pass. side. But with the purpose of the car, kiddos will have to ride in back, until the back seat is gone!

Did you need to do any custom work to make the brackets fit? Is there anyone that knows the size requirements (as well as any others) to make the seat fit in an R56? There are a few different seats for sale on various forums that I'm casually eyeballing.

Some teaser photos:
PGT: Our in house guy is finishing an add on module for the R56 seat people that will allow a toggle on the passenger side air bag for on or off (kind of like in a truck) vs the weight sensor. As well as will allow all the idiot lights to be off and the air bags active. If there is enough interest we will market this to go with the seats. Thanks again for asking!
More pics soon folks!
