Hi all i have a 2006 mini s convertable with the harmen karden system in it, i want to take it out and put in a new stereo system with my jl audio amps, so i need to know if anyone has a diagram of how to take the stereo out and speakers out also, is it easy to get the speakers out of the back and doors? thank you

I saw that thread but i was told that in the 2006 ytou have to take the bottom console out to slide the rails down? the dealership parts guy told me that in 06 and up, if that true then i need to know how to remove the console.

 

i have an 06 MC and i did it once with my friend that works at best buy installation and i remember that you have to take some screws out from the side panel and then there are some in the cup holder to help slide the rails out a little easier. the rest kinda flows from there from what i remember but i dont remember the exact steps sorry...hope that helped a little

Head units are the same - HK consists of an amp and different speakers.

 

I did not know, I wil have to look at the head unit to see what i have then, it looks more like the alpine one.
