is the write up available? Im interested in the CF overlays but it seems like it would be hard to the gauges apart... not to mention getting the vinyl to line up correctly!! i would assume you would use the wet method, but id be scared of frying the electronics with the water.

Currently, we do not have a write up for the speedo removal from dash, but we are working on a write up for the disassembly of the gauges themselves, as well as the overlay install.

What you will receive is an overlay, that goes over your existing silver gauge face. No water needed for application. We include small strips of vinyl to secure the faces to the pod so that they stay in place.

The most difficult part of the overlay installation will be removing the needle, which needs a bit of force, besides the removal of the speedo from the dash.

so if im reading you correctly... the overlay is not completely adhesively backed?

Btw, do you have any pictures of them in the car? im curious about the readability of the CF since it is somewhat reflective and blends in with the dark hash marks.

Im really just waiting for the write up before i go ahead and order!

No, they are not adhesive backed.

We are currently working on a write up for the install of the gauges.

The dark colored overlays may be a visability issue for some, but who really needs to see when to shift and how fast your going!?

Well then, you may as well create Movado edition gauges which would look very cool indeed.

Seriously though, how about white or silver borders around the markings for the darker overlays? I think it would look good. Also consider GP replicas. Are you going to make overlays for the Nav tach/speedo?

haha, well im really not THAT concerned since the digi read out has a speed display as well, plus i intend on getting the JCW shift light indicator eventually... plus, who actually looks at the tach to know when to shift?? its all in the feel of it!!

How are the how tos coming along?

I tend to agree that you would sell many more of these if you could get a proper outline of the numbers on your overlays so that they can be seen during the day and . . . well . . . just look right. I would be extremely interested in a dark gray, black, or blackjack, but not if the numbers get lost in daylight.

Is there a way we can make these "Custom Guages" one complete thread? I see a different thread everytime a post is made with updated pictures of the new guages. It would be nice to have it all on one thread. Can we keep it in the "VENDOR TALK" thread section?

The write-up is almost done. We've been a bit busy with orders.

We are also working on giving the darker gauges a border.

Sil3encer7 - Here's a preview of your emblems!

i agree - those emblems came out fantastic (i know this isnt the right thread to discuss them in...) and so did mine - the benji emblems that are currently on the Vinyl Styles website (take a look!!!)

the guages look incredible and i am deffiantly thinking about ordering a set of them for the more custom interior look and feel of my Miss Molly...well see how the cash flow seems to work out..and well figure it out when the time is right but i will no doubt be ordering from Lyle..his work is out of this world!!!

Satin black with Chili red borders would be perfect. Or Dark Silver metallic with Chili Red borders. Or . . .

Man those are so sweet, but I really don't like the idea of tearing apart my dash just to change the color/style of my speedo and tach. Plus, I kinda like the stock silverish color.

Really isn't that hard. Gets downright easy and non-scary after you've done it a time or two...

But it you're happy with stock, I'm happy for you!

I need a center piece that goes under the speedo.. Owner before had to drill into the dash to mount something for some reason. So I might do it if I can find a replacement center piece. Plus Lyle's work OWNES!!!

Thinking of placing another order with Lyle....how hard is it to remove the emblems?? Do they have two prongs on the back side? I want some orange and black ones
