Now that subject probably got your attention, right? I know this might sound crazy but just hear me out.

Today I got my windows tinted (state of Connecticut is 35%). Silver Lining in Danbury, CT did a great job. The craziest thing occured on the way home. I turned on the stereo and I could swear it sounds much better, is this actually possible?

The cockpit also feels alot more 'cozy' so to speak. I guess the darker windows help to give a more 'enclosed' feeling. But what about the stereo, am I nuts or have others experienced the same thing?

If it was tinted using plastic film it's very possible it altered the sound as it would absorb more of the high end frequencies and sound less tinny...would'nt surprise me a bit if it sounded better

I was thinking at least 6 to 7 more HP on a cool day.
Perhaps the tinting increases your comfort (privacy and reduced heating) and that relaxes you which makes you
appreciate the music a bit more. If you have this sort of side effect from various upgrades then I say-
Great job, all it means is that you are a Happy Motorer
Congrats.
Warning- Your individual results may vary

Since most tints have metallic in them, it's entirely possible you are hearing a crisper sound due to the reflection of sound waves off the metallic tint surface.

And the tint also reduces the number of photons entering the car, thus making the car weigh less: instant increase in horsepower! It is all science.

It sounds better because no one can see you singing along?

Getting my 35% tints Saturday. Looking forward to the stereo boost.

Actually your computations are a little off, that's actually 4.5 HP per window tinted. Apparently you rouneded and forgot it was per window. So with 5 windows that becomes a whopping 22.5 HP!

Hey Hank-

When you tested this... were your windows rolled down for the untinted test, then you roll them up for the tint test? I think that may make a difference!! ha ha ha

Hey, this is kind of like when my brother and I got new shoes when we were younger, we used to go outside and test them out because we "SWORE" we could run faster with them!

Now, I can't tell if you if were serious or not !!! On the off chance you were, and don't get insulted easy, is it possible the person doing the tinted adjusted it ??

I worked on cars for about 4 years doing glass repair and such, and sometimes I just couldn't help myself from tweaking.
