This is not the orginal painting!
It is still safe in Paris.

Mona Cooper

Edited by DiD: you need to link to the picture URL, not the URL for the page the picture is on.

here's the picture url https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...lbum04/enz.jpg you could get that by right mouse button clicking on the picture and then clicking "properties" from there copy the URL. (the same goes for the link in your signature. That's why it doesn't work. You need the url for the picture.

Cool! Very nice!! But I still prefer the flag painting or the checkers rather than this one! The flag or the checkers are more classic for MINI!!

We want to be original. How original is it to put a flag or checkers on the roof.
Sure, it is classic, but be different!
I like it. Classic paitnigs are not my thing, but very nice!

Good job!

With so many outrageous artists out there why a classic painting like that why not something upbeat and cool like these:

But if I wanted a classic American Gothic will be my choice.

Nobull,

I think one reason may be that living artists have copyright protection, while the Mona Lisa is safe to print.

I like classic over the modern, personally. I also think Van Gogh's Starry Night would look great on an Indi Blue MINI.

Several months ago I suggested a trompe l'oile print on a roof would be a hoot. MC Escher would also look great on a dark silver car.

See ya,
JS

If you like "modern art" you should go for it.
But try to fit a square onto a rectangle.
Mona Lisa works well on canvas and Mini roof.

That is the beauty of it and also the reason most "modern art" does not work. Nor will it be around in 400 years.

I was going to go with "Lavender Mist" by Jackson Pollack but it looked like bird droppings.

The eye needs a place to rest even when passing a truck at 85mph.

Bill sent us his artwork pre-formated and set-up on a disc. There was a minimal art charge for this and then it was only the cost of the full sunroof graphic ($349.00). We can do almost anything that you provide us given that it is at high enough resolution. Check out our Gallery section for more pictures.

One of the most endearing qualities of the Mini design is the roof is actually a canvas waiting to be filled. I don't think any other car on the road presents such possibilities, let your imaginations soar!

Q: Do we really have to worry about copyrights when it's a not-for-profit issue?

Q: If I take minibill's fine creative path & have one done using the X-Ray'd MCS image on my top (so looking down seems to let one look thru the MCS), am I going to field legal questions from MINI and/or Cooper Flags?

Great, minibill, - really!

Would you be so kind as to offer us resolution, sizing hints, as well as perhaps the quality & warranty info on the print from C.Flags please?

Thanks much,
-s.b.

I bought an 8x10 print from the Lourve on Ebay.
Then I scanned it and sized it 36x24 0r 1824 by 2710 dpi tweaking it in PhotoShop

Matt from Cooper Flags could supply you with more details

Copyright questions
Regarding not for profits.
This has nothing to do at all with the issue. The painting is owned by the Lourve and there are commerical usage restrictions.

Depends where you get the image you want use. I would guess it is copyright protected.
I would guess that if you used it but did not profit from it then you may not be in any trouble.
If you copy a song off a album and listen to it on a CD but do not sell it you would be ok.
If Cooper Flags post the end product on their site and sells it then they may be in trouble.

Mona Cooper

Bill
