joey mod r56 Xenons?

Anyone joey modded their r56 Xenons yet? i saw a picture in another thread and i think it will look sick!! especially for those who want to get rid of chrome and dont want to reduce their headlight output. Since im on winter break right now... im really considering tackling this mod.

I want to. But kinda afraid to break something expensive. There was a thread in the 1st gen area that had a walk-through process for doing it. But I believe they completely disassembled and then baked them.

yeah, i tried searching but could not find a clear step by step thread on how to do it and what had to be removed... Would you have to remove the ballast?

also, is it possible to just buy the lens? Mine has a rock chip in it right now and that wont really bother me but if it breaks somehow in the future... i would hope you wouldnt have to buy a whole assembly as that would be major money.

Ah, I see. That does look pretty sick!

Usually when people mod their head/tail lights, there is always talk of sticking them in the oven. I don't know about you, but that just doesn't sound right to me...

110% agreed, just cannot wrap my head around that one. Seeing that picture definitely makes it tempting if there's a way to do it without the whole baking process though. Would look amazing on my PW/B MINI.

Not exactly a "how-to", but someone on motoringunderground has done this to his R56: http://www.motoringunderground.com/f...709#post232709

and another, bit more disassembled pics: http://www.motoringunderground.com/f...?t=5827&page=7

even found some vinyl alternatives: http://www.lylesvinylstyles.net/headlighttint , they have vinyls for other parts as well!
