aftermarket shift ****

Does anyone know if it is possible for this type of **** to fit on the oem shifter? it says universal, but that doesnt mean much...i've looked and dont see anyway this could attach to the MINIs funky shaped shifter

no one has seen/used a **** with this method of attachment? Anyone, anyone?

looks like friction fit to me. don't know about you, but I'd yank that thing right off.

Momo ***** use a similar rubber insert to keep things snug, then three pointed allen caps screws under the base to secure it down on the shift rod.

well i guess it depends on how much friction i can accumulate when mounting it. which doesnt seem possible...all 3 adapters are too small to fit over the factory shifter...unless their is away to remove the adapter, and just have a straight shaft?

hacksaw is the only method of doing that i know, like a ghetto shortshift kit

The only ***** I know of that are actually designed for the MINI are mine and Doug Whalen's. I use Doug's adaptors. This page shows photos of an R56 shift lever, and Whalen adaptors. The R53 is very similar with a shorter distance between the notch and the groove.
