Plz show us where did the dealer positioned your driving lights button! Cause i have a feeling that it can be placed in more than one spot! Lets see where the best place for it is!

Mine is on the color line, just to the left of the steering wheel. Works ok there.

There is one spot for the OEM driving lights. On the left side of the steering column in the dash color line.

im sure you can custom mount the switch anywhere you want with enough time and money but there is actually a color line piece specially made for the button.... i highly doubt a dealer would circumvent a factory piece to custom install and cut up someones dash.

Exactly. I saw the part with the switch in place before it was installed.

I would guess that if you wanted to put it somewhere else, you could (provided you keep the original color-line trim piece that comes off the dash). I haven't had any complaints with the factory position, myself.

Especially since in order to order the switch itself you have to order it with one of the color line pieces. And there's a whole set for sale in the classified section (by me, for cheap) to make it even easier to do it the way MINI intended.

I believe the switch comes as part of the "color line" panel since they have different part numbers depending on what color your "color line" is.

I have color line and mine is one of the toggle switches at the bottom of the center dash. Personally, I like mine where it is.

No, your switch is for the fog lights. This thread is about the driving lights, which are the little ones mounted in front of the grill on top of the bumper.

I'm with you, I consider those driving lights as well... fog lights should be yellow.

Interesting. I typically only use them when it is foggy (dense or otherwise), and I use the rear fogs to make me more noticeable in the same conditions. I wonder if is correct to use them in with falling snow as well?

I just mean you can't really turn them off. When my lights come on, half the foglights come on too...

Yes. The R56 has split fog lights. The top half (separate bulb) acts as a running light.

My mini dealer didn't place a switch for the driving lights, they light up only when i turn on the xenon high head lights using the toggle switch! Can this be due to the fact that i live in Europe?
