Great pictures- well done.
What about final shot of the car out on the road with the wheels back on. Please post.
How long did it take you? Any problems?
Is it good for another 5 HP at the wheels?

The instructions say not to motor for at least 24 hours to allow the paint to fully cure. But it is hot and dry in PHX today so I figure I could go out in 12 hours or so.

I took my time.

You're wrong about the 5HP, it's really 5hp per wheel making a grand total of 20 additional hp.

Dom, looks gorgeous! I'll be curious to see how it survives the brake dust. I have the same wheels and I'm quickly finding that windex to clean the wheels is becoming my best friend!

But yes, absolutely lovely! Very nice mate  Can't wait to see the car in person hopefully next weekend!

Very nice job. Like that fact that you had all four wheels off at the same time. Sure makes the job easier.

I think after next weekend people will begin to hate my planning skills. Who wants to go to Tombstone in 110F heat!?

BTW, there's people over on the OwnersLounge that seem to be interested in joining us. I really haven't got much response on MINI2 or here on the MCO.

Darn, forgot to take a pix of that (all four wheels off). Maybe when I install my new 16" wheels and tires I'll do that.

Looks great and eye catching. It's a pity that you cannot use yellow paint to do body color matching...

FYI the calipers come off really easily. Then just remove the pads, tape off the fluid line and spray with hi-temp paint for engine blocks. Simple and much, much quicker than spending 3 hours to tape off.

But they do look purty!

Post a picture showing both front and rear calipers with the wheels on, I'd like to see how the red looks with the LY body. Did you think to paint them yellow instead of red?

Dom--

I think they look awesome! Way to be creative in personalizing your baby! You know we are all gonna have to steal your idea right?!

Very nice, and as I saw others asking, I was curious to know if you had thought about painting them the same color as the body? Now I sit here trying to think of how my EB with the same wheels would look with the calipers also being electric blue...or maybe red just to contrast?!...gonna have to give it some thought, but great idea, and sweet execution!!

You won't be disappointed!

Angle of the dangle as it were. The S's are red. But with the fill-flash I used on that shot, must have lit up the sparklies just right. But it does look pretty killer with that yellow S sitting there. I wonder if there's any aftermarket ones available...

Davbret, I've seen how tape happy you can be...

pps: Taking those lines off the calipers scares me.

Yes, they gave a small spray can of brake cleaner. I also used a wire brush. I've had 10200 miles of brake dust accumulation to remove. I used the whole can doing the job. I recommend getting an additional can if you have the mileage I have.

Don't mix the whole 4oz paint can and 1oz activator. I did 2oz and 1/2 oz and had anearly half of that small batch left over when I was done!!

Shweeeet!!!! I happen to like the red calipers on your LY. It brings the other red accents together (wheel arch reflectors and the "red" S).

I've been toying with painting my calipers ever since I put the SSRs on. But my dilemma has been finding a complimentary color for my SG/B. Have any of you been able to locate a source of high temp paint that comes in custom colors?

Haven't found custom colors, but the G2 kit comes in various colors. Get ahold of alex from tirerack (forum mod for tires, wheels here on MCO). You can also see it on their website. TireRack's G2 kit
