The Alta cold air intake seems to be a pretty schweet intake for the R56.
You could change your interior lighting, shift ****, e-brake handle - license plate, turn signal, and reverse lights... go crazy

Just surf around on NAM - you'll find a bunch of DIY's

What no plug for your own work?

I'd start dechroming the car, if I were in your situation

If you are talking about a Blow Off Valve like this
there is a thread about it (search 'forge BOV")

From what I understand it is more for sound than anything else. A CAI will give you a lot of turbo sound with some more power too.

some of the unexpensive mods I have done to the exterior have been painting my scoop black and I am sure you can pick any other color.

I added a turbo badge to the boot and currently going to remove the chrome rings around the headlights and tail lights to paint those black as well...

for $50 you can buy all the blackout material you need to wrap front and rear lights and beltline and for another $50 you can do about any kind of stripes with professional grade vinyl...bull dog adhesive promoter and wurth trim paint in matte black matches oem and is great stuff for door handles and gas tank cover and your license plate holders if they are chrome and for your light rims if you don't want to wrap them...you can see this stuff on my car in the gallery...Hayame carbon fiber is nice and matches oem if you want to try your hand at this...pm me if you want some sources...i have 2 college kids and am sympathetic, but hey, you got a nice car!
