And back on topic...

What is the difference between the "Uber Wing" and the "Uber Wing Extension?"

They look the same to me...trying to figure it out.

The uber Extension wing has a lightly steeper and taller lip.
The edges look to be a bit more smooted out with well rounded ends.

Cool. Despite all of the bashing from people here, I am going to get the wing in the next couple of weeks. I love the look

Wing looks good; no argument. Just hope that you don't dare run into any problems with this company; you'll regret ever starting with them. Good luck.

The "Wing" is the missing element discarded by the German engineers for cost containment. The "Wing Extension" is... not.

Interesting bit here....

Wing related, not wing extension.

So I'm at the track yesterday and there is a sorta local MetroplexMini.org member there that owns two modded Mini's. One being the Pro-Mini Turbo car that he's tracking, another is a Chile Red with lots of PU bits.

Seems the bolts on the P.U. Wing are, get this, rusting!! He's contacted them and they are sending new bolts. The I get the eye roll and am told that it's been a while since that conversation and he's not holding his breath. Mind you, this Mini had lots of PU stuff on it, the rusting lugs, the overpriced knockoff wheels, the barn door wing (now with rusting hardware), CF Scoop, and I know I saw other stuff last time I saw that car.

It's really not that hard to supply decent Stainless hardware thats not going to rust, unless you are P.U. and need to milk every last penny of profit from already overpriced crap.

Aren't those the wheels that Ace is selling? I thought they were just the regular Sportmax wheels...I don't think that they're Uber badged.

That's why i put the sportmax in there too. Same exact wheel....just minus the badges. And unfortunately...i don't think the badges will stop rust.

Haha, ok. I was just curious because I was talking to him about buying those and getting them fixed up to have as an extra set.

I can't say for sure....looks like rust due to brake dust eating through the clearcoat.

could also be a byproduct of road salt and bi-metallic corrosion if that's a ferrous/SS lip. All SS isn't created alike nor rustproof...my Alta 'full stainless' exhaust had surface rust and rust at the welds after a year (made overseas like the wheels).

As Gomer Pyle might utter, "Surprise, surprise, surprise"! I bet no one having been dealt an Uber headache is surprised though; poor guy.

One of the reasons I actually liked and kept my PU CF hood scoop (instead of my M7 CF hood scoop, which I reluctantly sold so I good justify splurging on the TSW X-Brace and a new JCW CF dash; I just hope I didn't sell the wrong CF hood scoop now) was the stainless steel threads that are embedded into the underside of the PU CF hood scoop for the screws to go into through the hood frame; I wonder if I need to check for rust now?
GULP!

Been reading this thread with great interest & I think I will be buying one. As I live in the U K I need to get the shipping details sorted out before purchase.

Not sure if P U get these from the U K in the first place then ship to the U S??? I've sent them an email for further details & will keep you updated on the outcome.

Cheers

Why not pop over to their London Shoppe and pick it up...

Ohh wait...there is no London Shoppe

But golly..don't they keep saying they are getting a shipment from London...

Love it. those in the UK get to buy items supposedly sourced from the UK from the US. So not only do you get to pay shipping from LA to UK but also built into the price was the original alleged shipping from UK to LA. Makes total sense to me..

So is it coming from the UK or from LA?

Wouldn't want to be paying for shipping all the way from LA, and paying the included costs of shipping/customs into and out of the US when you could just get it shipped locally from the UK:
Each wing is completely hand made with incredible precision by our technicians in London, using only the highest grade of aircraft carbon fiber and resins

I had to learn the hard way; I must have sounded just like Red 5 when I was hoping that all the stories about PU were simply for other people.

Gnatster? Rally? Did I really sound this gullible when I was hoping PU would solve my problems with their crappy rusting tuner lugs? When will the bling not blind folks from seeing the truth, which is these PU jokers are just full of biodegradable waste.
