Cheapest way to change light color

I love sharpies :-) I took out a bunch of my interior bulbs and sharpied them blue.

I really like the outcome 'cause it isn't super bright but it glows.

FTW I know a bunch of people do this with red to make guages match the stock orange.

I'll post pics of my red after I do them later tonight. I'll be using some spare red lighting gels I picked up for free.

About the sharpies...
Someone try this with red on the interior lights. It would be cool at night to have that "cockpit" lighting.

I have then on an 05, I think they started with the interior water fall and under radio stack lighting in 05.

I'm finishing up my red gel install just the foot wells left (skipping the doors)

Very cool indeed. Being red, you can run with them on too, and it won't distract that much.

I bought xenon interior lights, I like the pure light they give. Forgot where I bought them. I will check their business card when I get back in mid Dec. if anyone wants to know.

Wow! that red is cool!! How easily can you get spare bulbs? Id love to do this in red but id like to have the option of going back the normal color.

Cool.
Where did you get the gel from? Last place I saw light gel was a head shop, and I haven't been to one of those in many moons.

I used to do techincal theatre (now I pretty much just guide HS kids through it) and you can pick it up for a few bucks for a huge sheet from a lighting equipment supplier. This was just some spare red that wasn't big enough to be reused in a theatre light so I snagged it on its waytothe dumpster.

Here is a link the basics of what it is, LINK
