Any Experience with Moss Mini Gauge Faces?

Hi all, I was wondering if there was anybody with any experience with the Moss Mini Gauge faces. I would really like to put black gauge faces on my MINI (yes, I have read about glare from black, etc. etc.) and I really like the way that the Moss Mini ones look.

http://www.mossmini.com/Shop/ViewPro...eIndexID=58057
(some clearer pictures in the instructions-----> http://www.mossmotors.com/graphics/p...65_102-366.pdf )

I was considering the OutMotoring gauge faces, however I am not satisfied with the way that they appear when lit, and I REALLY don't like the OutMotoring logo on them.

If anybody has any input on them I would really appreciate it, or if there are any others that are recommended I will be glad to have a look at them! Thanks so much!

-Chase

Just FYI, the OutMotoring ones no longer have the logo on them.

I don't have the Moss ones, I have OutMotoring ones...but I would assume the installation is the same. FWIW, it is fiddly, and a PITA...but not HARD at all. Just fiddly and takes awhile. There is a great how-to here.

oooh, thanks for that little tidbit! As you can tell, I have been considering changing the gauge faces for a while now!

they are the Cockpit Specialties ones, not Moss MINI. I got those same install instructions in my kit....I believe Helix is the original vendor who sells these, everybody else just carries them.

here they are on my car

Did anyone ever come out with speedo/tach faces for the Chrono/Nav-equipped cars? The Cockpit Specialties site still lists them as "due March '07", but I couldn't find them on their site, and I haven't seen anyone here post pictures of them.

Both Cockpit Specialties and Outmotoring have them. I posted a review of the black Cockpit Specialties version here. BlimeyCabrio has a writeup about the Outmotoring version in his blog.

With black, it is really reflections that are the problem, not glare. I described a solution here using anti-reflective lenses (good for all gauges, not just black). I haven't had time to take the idea further but hope to make an arrangement where prefabricated pieces might become available at a good price.

Thanks for the feedback everybody. (and the info on who actually produces them)

PGT- yours look great. If I may ask, do you have any problem with number illumination? I assume they are pretty much a re-color of the stock design, However, I may be wrong! You aren't running into the problem of un-illuminated areas like in the OutMotoring gauge faces are you?

Thanks!

Love your seats.

BTW Cockpit Specialties is the original vendor/manufacturer of these, Helix is just a re-seller like everyone else.

Well I figured I'd bring this thread back to life...see if anyone has any new information. It looks like Outmotoring and Moss Mini have updated their guage faces to fix some of the old problems. Any color suggestions? I'm looking to put them in my R57
Thanks

MossMINI shows those as no longer available. Can you still get them?

haha, wow, never thought that I would see this thread again!

To add some input to this thread, I had would up going with a set from cockpit specialties, but the first set that I received wound up developing some sort of crystalline blemishes on the face, had them replaced with another set of cockpit specialties faces, but those suffered from being too see-through.

So, I finally replaced those with the set that Lyle's Vinyl Styles produces, and I was nothing but pleased. An excellent product, I would say the best quality of the bunch!
