Black out side markers

I just got my car yesterday and today I blacked out the side markers. I don't like the cooper markers, but the chrome and red S wasn't doing it for me, so I picked up black side marker vinyls and black S dome stickers from aestethic creations. Pictures below are the results. It was harder than I thought it would be to put on and not as smooth as I thought, but it is definitely better and overall I'm happy with them.

First, with the black markers, second with black dome S stickers, and last finished!

!

Those look awesome!

That will be my first mod when I get my R56s, hopefully in the next year or so. Dream R56 is AB/B and as little chrome as possible. I was thinking would have to settle for changing out with Cooper side markers to get the all black look, but not now!

Motor Happy!

Probably would have been a good idea, but I don't like paint just cause it's permenant and harder to deal with issues. Althought getting new ones are probably cheap, so I guess paint isn't a bad idea. I kind of like the chrome border that comes through though.

I might just be very nit-picky, but they are not as good as the pictures make them look. There are definitely air bubbles and it doesn't line up perfectly; but I guess from viewing distance they look fine. For neurotic people like me, it might bother you a bit and therefore painting might be better.

Will post today, I cleaned the car for the first time today. Told the dealer not to prep it since they usually just give you free swirls with the prep.

I like the black with red myself. (just my opinion) I have one other style I am going to try before painting the whole things. I will try to post photos later for public scrutiny!

took pics today, but they were blurry so I didn't post them. I guess I can just do a pic in the garage, I was hoping for something with a nicer background.

Edit: Here are a couple, I will try to get some tomorrow, but not likely as I have class pretty early and don't get out till late.

Not a big fan of the chrome side markers either. Here's what mine now look like. I decided on the dark silver "S" to match the car.

What I'd like to do next is replace the orange bulbs with those silver coated ones I've read about. Currently I don't know where to get them, anybody? Oops, nevermind, I found the right thread.

That bulb is still a 194 5w5 bulb like in the r50/r53 cars right? I'm pretty sure it is.

If so....you can get them here for cheap: http://autolumination.com/194.htm

I used a simple white light that I received free when I got my osram silver coated turn signal bulbs. Unfortunately, they light white, which is weird when everything else is lighting yellow, so I might have to get a set of side markers as well, I believe heon-usa has some.
