I to have used europlates.com. Make sure you add the "s", it will take you to a different site. I had an issue with a plate and they kept in contact and re-issued me a new one no questions asked. I have had 2 made

The plate is stamped, just like a real license plate.

I got mine from a supermarket when i was in europe for a whopping $7.00 euro (Roughly 9-10 dollars) No exageration! I watched the guy stamp it out for me, and it was done in 2 minutes

I was over there anyway, for vacation and visiting family I wouldve gladly picked some up for some Mini peeps, but i would need to know aht you want stamped. I may go in aug 08 again, we'll see.

You may also want to try "Griots Garage" for euro plates. They have assorted countries you can get, and they also have the bracket available seperately for about the same $

Ive ordered solme stuff from them so they send me thier catalog every now and then. Its a good source for general automotive needs

Yea, good point ^

I havent bought from them in awhile either. But i still get thier catalogs. I agree, it is neat to look through thier product catalog. It used to be that alot of their stuff was "Unique" and no one around carried some of their products. Not so anymore though. I got my light protection film installed this weekend for the Mini through "Lamin-X" and got the yellow fogs. Looks great and now thier protected

Another thing is, i was just browsing "MinSpeed.net" cuz im looking to order their Mini oem Euro armrest and i thought of you because they too have euro plated and that bracket you want. I may get the euro plate bracket as well. Nice site

My europlates.com plate on my classic is great - fast shipping and great communications. I was the one that had trouble with europeanplates.com, yes but europlates.com was great. The plate is embossed, came with authentic registration stickers, and they even sent a plate holder for a few bucks more:

I just noticed the British Plate in your sig has German TÜV (inspection) and Zoll (Tax) stickers on it.

If you're going with the European Union GB plates and care about authenticity, you may want to leave off the German stuff. The Brits affix their MOT (Ministry of Transportation inspection/tax) discs on their windshields with nothing extra on the plates.

BTW, the going rate around here is 9 euro ($12.50) for each plate with black frames a few euro extra.

has anyone actually ever been pulled over simply for not having a front plate? i mean, i understand getting an add on ticket for the front plate, assuming you were stopped for speeding or something. but honestly, what cop is going to pull a U turn to give you a 50 dollar plate ticket? on my last car, i removed the front plate completely and filled in the holes, and the only trouble i ever got for it was at a "safety check" stop where they corral all the cars going in a certain direction into a parking lot to hand out tickets. other than that, i have a feeling cops dont drive around staring at the lower front bumper of oncoming cars.

anyway, for this reason, i plan on getting a euro plate (a black one that says DR-KILL) and keeping it on my front bumper at all times, leaving the US plate off entirely. anyone have any comments on this matter?

Highway Patrol guys often aim their lasers at your front plate, capturing an image of the plate along with a speed rating - I've heard of many a case where they've flagged a driver down for not having one. So yeah, it can happen.

I know that I'm risking fate by having a Euro plate up front in place of my Ohio plate, but the plate lettering matches my "official" license... So far, so good (crosses fingers)...
