so I have a really old radar detector which works so so I would like to get
a real good one does anyone have any input? prices

try getting one with 360 degrees detection including lazer.. You can go $$$$ or $ inexspensive.. Also keep it un plugged if your not using it..

Well the Valentine 1 is the best in my opinion, but it is expensive. Nothing works 100%, with Laser and instant on being used there is always a chance of getting caught. It is better to have one though than not, because in a MINI the chances of you speeding are greatly increased.

There are a few threads on detectors on MCO, you can check them first. Echoing what has already been said, there is no 100% sure way except abstain from speeding, no body can protect you from aerial traps and Laser is very nasty. That said, the Valentine 1 I've had for the past four years has served me very well, to date no tix. (touch wood).
