Gas Cap Relocation

Alright I am going to be having my drivers side rear panel replaced due to a little collision and thought I would look into this while it would be in the shop. so... I know i would be moving the filler line (or replacing if not long enough) welding a cover for the previous locationg and shaving it smooth. a mounting solution for the tail with a hinge. some electrical wiring movement. What else am I looking to have done. how many hours of labor etc.
I looked on the vortex and couldnt find anything but pics, I'll keep looking but thought someone else might know better. Thanks guys!
Bryan

I have no idea, but where are you planning to move it and why?

I want to move it behind my drivers side tailight. I am looking at making the car as "clean" as possible.

Theres an amp behind the taillight pretty much. I've taken off some of the panels and you should probably leave things put, imo!

the left tail has nothing behind it... which is actually where one would want to move it since the oem setup is on the left side.

a rerouting to there would be awesome by the way. ive had day dreams of moving it to there. it'd have to flip down for clearance of the taillight assembly... hmmm. good luck and stick to your guns, don't let the naysayers change your mind

It would seem the filler would have to route over the wheel well and then down slightly to the tailight which may be a problem (pumping fuel uphill when refilling) or do you have another idea of how to route the filler?

I wonder if you could hinge the tail lamp on the bottom to actually be the door, like on the '57 Chevy.

Could you recess it into the driver's side door jamb? It would still be outside the door gasket - could make for interesting refuling tho.

That is some trick sh*t right there! Definitely cool. Man, if I didn't have so many other projects going on, i'd check into that.
