yes it is red and black alright ...
however for the track / auto-x i have now added HIGHLIGHTER YELLOW morrors and my rims for race tires will also be YELLOW

What is the paint you used on the down tubes and how exactly did you paint them? I'm assuming spray paint?

It is spray paint.
From ACE hardware (ACE , BANNER RED)
Man it is a close match

I removed the down tubes and did a very fine light sand with 220 paper.
primed and, 3 coats the last one being WET (read a bit heavy)
they were so nice I didnt clear coat.

I paint with the item inside a cardboard box (NO DUST)

Hmmmm.... I painted the switch rings on two of our MINIs chili red to match the dash but hadn't considered trying to remove the downtubes and painting to match. I may take this next step once it cools down here in a couple of months. I like the look
