He should spend the extra money and get the black trim around the wheel wells, and the chrome around the headlights and grill. It would really set the car off and keep it from looking so ordinary.

Yeah, really. What an R56 SHOULD look like is much-much lower than that. Post updated pics after the drop.

Thanks for all the comments guys. As mentioned, drop coming tomorrow (actually, I think you've given ygblat the impetus to do it tonight instead).

These wheels are not Palo Uber's- they are from the same company which Palo Uber buys them from and rebadges them.

It looks pretty nice. He needs to work on the details to tie it all together IMHO.

For instance, he removed the crome trim around the grill and headlights but didn't touch the belt line, door handles, gas cap or S emblem on the quarter panel.

Oh, and lower it

Nice work

I like the little bit of chrome he left. Ties in with the polished rim on the wheels.

Jeez, and I swear nobody reads entire posts these days...

Yep.

Definitely the stock "S" bumper. I don't know if maybe the Hypersport Aero kit has different rockers - I thought it just had painted stockers.

your right, mine have that same wave to them, it's just not as noticable unless they are painted

I kinda like the black rockers & arches, but only on a black trim car, ie green/black, red/black, blue/black for the contrast

I do like the rims though, I ordered some similar for my car

Thanks for all the thoughts and suggestions guys! The beltline and gas cap will be done at some point, I played around with tape and don't have the patience for it; I will just remove, paint, and clearcoat in the coming weeks (this weekend and next is devoted to lowering and sorting out suspension). The door handles will remain shiny to set off the lips.

The big decision is what to do with the taillights - probably going to be smoked but I am not sure what to do with the surrounds (black, body-color, or leave them chrome) and with the chrome covers for the headlight washers (probably leave them chrome). Any and all suggestions will be eagerly entertained.

Looking good so far. I'd leave the headlight washers chrome; they blend in with the lights. I'd also do the taillight bezels body color to match the headlight rings.

Don't cry...it was meant to be a joke. Hence the sticking out of the tongue and all...

Oh, no... we read it... but if you're going to title a thread "What an R56 should look like"... well, it SHOULDN'T look like a 4x4! Finished pics only, please.

Anyway, it served a purpose to motivate the owner to speed up the timeframe on lowering... so .

I think the headlight rings should be chrome or black not the color of the car. It just doesn't look right in my eyes. Otherwise nice work.

So, we started the install last night. Swapped out the rears without issue (had to reuse OEM tophats), and moved on to the fronts. The front assembly was like that of my M3, so although a bit annoying to work on, at least we were familiar with it. After removing the front, we realized that the camber plates on the new coilovers were the wrong size.

Looks like we'll be finishing this project on Wednesday, at which point JIC/Cross will send over different front assemblies.

I considered going black, I think diabolito's MCS looks really nice with them, but ultimately I felt that going body-color would look more integrated into the look of the car.
