Chrome Tailgate Handle ???

I ordered my R56 MCS this week and did NOT go for the chrome exterior trim. The only piece I really like in the kit is the tailgate handle. Does anyone know if it is possible to replace my colored one for a chrome tailgate handle and if so, how hard/expensive that would be?

Have you asked your dealer? I think I've seen them available somewhere, but can't recall where.

I changed out my painted tailgate handle for chrome. I thought it would wear better, looks good too. I think I paid $130-140 from the dealer. It was shipped to me; took 5 minutes to change(4 screws and re-connecting the electrical connection)

No instructions. Look at the lower side of your present handle; you'll see the 4 torx screws. It's simple!

Yes, it's a pretty easy swap. I've done a few of them, and the only strange thing is that the amount of slack in the wiring seems to vary from car to car. On some of them, I was able to fish the wire out so that the electrical connection was completely outside the skin of the car, whereas on other cars, I had to disconnect/reconnect the plug by reaching through the opening in the body panel using forceps.

Either way, it wasn't difficult at all.

Out motoring now offers this handle in chrome for $98. It is an easy swap. 4 screws and a plug and you are done.

I did ours yesterday. Really dresses up the boot hatch.

I have to have my boot handle replaced due to faulty wiring and I'm thinking of having the handle painted the same black as my roof. I'm not a huge fan of chrome or Carbon Fiber and I like the way black looks on my Dark Silver. Does anyone have photos or links to photos they could share.
