Oh yeah...this Coming Soon crap don't fly here either. It's either on the car or it's not on the list. Except in the case of multiple wheel/tires since they all can't realistically be on at once.

Cause most of your mods are BS mods in my book.

And because I can say so since appointed, but never asked for the job, fake pretend VP of this fake pretend "club"

I agree that valve stem caps are a little weak and membership should not hinge on those as one of the 15 mods. But if there are other, more formidable mods listed, open the club doors wide, Gnat.

ok take them out and i still would qualify. By the way you have ABSOLUTLY no class putting down someone elses car. If you dont like it, fine but calling it BS...no class. If its because they arnt performance mods than i guess most of the people here dont qualify. DOnt worry i am sure you will just remove this post by me anyhow.

Some people mod for show and some mod for go. Some do both. Sure would be nice if everyone could just mutually accept that and move on. I know many of these comments masquerade as humor, but really, there is more truth intended by them than there is humor.

Never said I didn't like the car it's your car and my liking it or not is immaterial to being a Mad Modder. Not gonna remove the post either, I don't do that.

You just don't qualify for Mad Modder status. A handful of parts counter mods just don't cut it. Sorry.

Andrew welcome.

Do not get discouraged by gnatster. While I understand what he saying in reality the clarity on the start of this thread was not there. I am sure that you will continue to ad to your Mini and in that spirit of this thread I think you will fit in this group. We all started where you were and sometimes forget that. If you read some of the early members you will see a trend beginning on what this thread was designed for. Some of us have gone way over the norms on Mods and like to feel we are in an elite club. Which we are but there is always room for others.

Are you MAD about MODDING ?? Are you MAD enough to join the club ?

Membership requirements: At least 15 post-delivery mods to your MINI...sorry, but your cool ordered options don't count.

List your mods in this thread and proudly become a member of The Mad-Modder Club !!

The person with the most mods becomes the Most Mad Modder and club President.

I've said it before in this thread and I'll say it again.

The thread was started in good fun, not as a competition or to bring about mean-spirited comments about other's mods.

If you want to count your "Actual Size" sticker as a mod and that gives you the "15" that I mentioned as qualifying, then so be it. Consider yourself a Mad Modder. If we ever get those badges made, order one and display it proudly.

If anyone doesn't like it, so friggin what ? They can go start their own thread with their own qualification standards.

Now... back to having fun, anyone ?????

agreed! i have no problem with not "qualifying" as they say but i did not being told some of my mods are BS. Sure, mini valve stems may be a stretch but i looked at is as this, if i want to spend a few grand on show and someone else wants to spend it on go...who am i to judge. I own a cooper as a daily driver,365 days a year. it isnt garage kept, off the roads during winter only out on a good days. I own the car for what it was desigend to do. Drive from point A to point B and enjoy every second of it. By adding a lot of performance mods to it i run two problems:1 - mpg goes down, 2- only being a cooper with a 5sp that has over 50K on it....imploding the engin/trans. As far as a few off the shelf parts store parts as it was referred to, i will bet dollars to donuts that just about every single part listed here is like that. (my apology to anyone who went out and bought a machine shop to make their own) Lastly and most important, what ever happened to owning the car to have fun with and enjoy? What every happened to the mini comunity? I for one look at every mini with admiration and respect for whatever the owner has done to it, even it it isnt my taste or tey just keep it clean.

Enjoy everyone and happy motoring

Hey, Andrew.... the titles of President and VP are as fictional as the club itself. So when Gnatster DQ's you for what he feels are not "meaty" modifications, take it for what it is: the opinion of one person on this message board of hundreds of people.

You're as much a part of the "club" as anyone, IMO. I mean, look at my mods... I think my latest list is a couple pages back. It's full of silly little $10/2 minute "mods". And I'm the one who started this club.

Thanks for posting your mods and your pics... I enjoyed them.

Well, if we had a Virtual Garage all this would be over...you could search the Garage for all those with JCW wings, or all those with brake ducts cut into the front bumper...or whatever. You'd be able to see all the cars that fit into a single mod category, or all them at once. You'd be able to tell the modders from the mad-modders from the totally insane freaky "don't you ever sleep?" modders.
But until then...we have to wade through a whole lot of variance to find the 95th percentile.

I would say yes. I have seen your interior modding interior of your Mini means custom removal of parts and leaving them off.

Phil, 95th percentile is a good description of what seems to be the spirit of the thread. It doesn't matter if its The Prez, Nate, or Imagox for example, 95 percenters are the mad modders. This description also includes all types, power hungry, aesthetics, etc. so it works.
By this description, I don't think I would be eligible, which is fine. Well, at least not until all the drilling is done to the engine and the probes and data acquisition are installed. Shhhhhhhhh!

95th percentile, how could you be so cruel to not be inclusive of everyone in the Nanny state (USA) where no child is left behind and there is no first place, everyone gets a trophy for participating.

This did start out as a 95th percentile thing till the sticker and valve stem cover modders cried.

Oh yeah DocPhil. Harp on Mark for the garage.
