I see a JCW intake system, some very nice paint, not exactly from a can of auto zone dupli-color, a very clean and well done detailing job and some strut tower plates. I think someone needs glasses. Sure it could have more done, but we all could. What an ***.

Because we can all tell what's done to a MINI's engine by looking at the engine bay ...

I have 18k in engine mods and unless you spent 6 hours taking everything apart you'd have no clue just looking at the engine bay.

The RMW test car looks completely stock, needless to say, it isn't. It's stroked to 2 liters, and puts out 263 wHP and 232 ft lbs of torque.

Not all of us wasted money on plug wires and bling bling airboxes with elaborate intercoolers that do absolutely nothing.

You planning to swap the expansion tank, or paint it? I've been looking at mine, lately... curious as to whether it will take and hold paint...

I may go the black route - but I think the metalcast billet would be da bomb in your bay... would balance out the color very well...

I can't tell if I got slammed or agreed with for my comment, but I definately agree that what you see under a hood and whats there can be totally different. And a nice powdercoat may be unecessary, but it looks good. Not that a high performance car needs to look good.
I'm in awe of some of the "mad modders" as the amount of money is mind boggling. I'd spend it the same way if I had it though. It just upset me to see someone slam sombody elses car based on a picture that in no way revealed a great amount about the mods. I have a lot done to mine, but a lot of it is convenience and gadgetry, but I'm proud of it, and to see somebody talk smack just upset me and i felt something should be said.

I figure this is the best spot for this question, who makes the best heads? I am all done with the "cheap" mods, now for some real fun. I'm just not sure as to where even to look for a head. I like the one on MiniMania, but heavens know I have no idea if they are the goodlyest. Also, would putting on a new DOHC head from a 07 work? Change out the timeing chain/belt, would it work? And why is a DOHC any better than a SOHC head? I have no clue as to why it would be better. Any help would be totally fantabulios! Thank guys
