I actually had the car sold in July of 2005 while we were house shopping. The day the people were to come pick it up and hand me a big fat check, Betsy, my wife said...."I'll miss the cooper, I dont' wanna sell it. Tell those bad people to go away!!!". Now it is what it is ....all mine, and all my style.

The husband was PISSED!!!!! He was buying it for his wife, she really wanted it as it was the cleanest one they had seen. He was, uhm, well, less than friendly...but his wife called back about a week later to apologize...they could not have afforded it anyway, and then he lost his job somewhere between when they were supposed to pick it up and when she called me. Things happen for a reason, but she felt bad that he went off on me.

I am glad Betsy wanted me to keep it. Never have I had a car for over 4 years and still enjoyed it this much.

tell me about it, since 2000, I have owned 12 cars ...The MINI is the only one I have kept. The current Subaru is the other, going on 18 months of ownership now on that daily driver...and my Wife's Tacoma is almost 4 years old too. No new car in the works for at least another 18 months or so...but like you said, the MINIs are just too much fun, and they have so much character.

I enjoy reading other peoples mods and factory options. It makes me feel like I'm not the only idiot out there. I ordered my car with every option avaiable at the time. It took 8 months to get here. I've had the car for a little over 2 years (July 29th 05). I've added 2 cyl heads, 2 complete exhaust systems, 15%pulley, 17% pulley, LT weight C/S pulley, and next week a 2%C/S pulley and that dosen't even come close to how many other things i have installed and replaced. How I'm into power coating and polishing.

 

Any GP's in the club yet, I might just be insane enough to join, my Wife seems thinks I need a "check-up from the neck-up" anyway
