What is this Thingie Called?
OK, on the parking, there is a plastic/fake chrome ring thingie at the end of the faux leather part you wrap your hand around with a hole in it for the release button. Mine has broken & fallen off & I would like to know what it is called so I can call & get a price for a replacement without having to call it a "thingie".
Thanks

At one time it obviously had 4 prongs that held it in place. 3 of them are broken off so I guess that's why it finally came loose. It would probably be covered under warranty but if it's cheap enough it's not worth driving 325 miles to get a free one.
According to the oem parts site, the whole handle is one part.

That figures
if #3 is a whole part it might be costly. What I speak of is the front piece of #3 in the illustration & there is no chance of it staying on. Evey time I use the parking brake it falls off. Thanks for the diagram though

You should be able to order it and replace it yourself rather than drive that far, gas may cost you more than the part may cost. Call Classic and find out how much they are and remember to mention NAM for a 20% discount.
I called MINI of S Atlanta, the part is $35 + shipping. I am due for a servicing in 2000 miles so I will have to decide if I wanna shell out the moolah or just deal with it for a bit & get it free when I go for servicing. Thanks for the pic though I was able to gave them the part # & I didn't have to call it a "thingie"
From my days as a parts manager, we would call that ring an "escutcheon" (I prefer "trim -ring", but that's just me).
From webster: Pronunciation: \is-ˈkə-chən\ a protective or ornamental plate or flange (as around a keyhole).
