Non-slippy clutch pedal?

Hey -- anybody know of a clutch pedal replacement which will help me not slip off the pedal, when it's been raining or snowing out? If I get any water on my shoes (several different pair) I find the clutch pedal very slick. I keep slipping off it. Not fun!

instead of taking and swapping out pedals, how about see if you can have your oem ones sand blasted or what not. That may take the gloss texture off and leave a more of a matte finish for grip. may or may not work, but thats the route i would take. Most of the aftermarket pedals i have seen for various cars never really look like they belong.

im pretty sure, i havnt looked at my pedals in a while, but there are rubber lines that are a bit less than 1cm high off the pedal which cause it to be very slick when wet, i to have had this problem, but im not in a high rain or snow area so im leaving them, and just being extra careful when it does.

you may want to look into getting some cooper pedals, just the solid black.

i was going to post something about this today.

i agree with the original poster, i have been looking for aftermarket pedals and i see that ultimatepedals are the way to go as far as the best bang for your buck. my question is whether i shoudl go for the ones with the rubber nubs or just the textured billet... does anyone have any experience with using both?

to my previous post. what i mean is, will the rubber nubs basically do the same squeeking/slipping in wet conditions? basically what are the pros/cons between the two. thanks in advance.

a cheap solution that i would use, you can remove the rubber parts and put on like skateboard grip tape. we use skateboard grip tape on a few of our racecars and it works great. its not a very factory look or anything but it will solve your issue for less than $8

I noticed the slippery/squeakiness in the rain, too, though I just had to be more careful. +1 on skateboard grip tape (it's sort of like the grip tape they use on metal stairs).

Is the skateboard grip tape the same as the 3M anti slip tape you get from the DIY stores or is it better?

griptape for a skateboard is basically a large sheet of sandpaper with adhesive backing. There are different grits that you can buy for skateboards depending on your style...so it just depends on your liking .

I chose the fine grit stuff so I dont stick to my board as easily.

http://www.amazon.com/Mob-Skateboard.../dp/B002E0B2BK

Its very cheap too for a fairly large sheet

I've always slipped my foot back and forth to press and release the clutch. I don't really keep my foot planted in any certain position. I guess i'm different than everyone else.

Really good idea. I've been slipping off my clutch all week!

Follow the link below. i have these on my '08 R56. They look great and they are very secure. Instead of rubber inserts, they have set screws that provide the grip. Note, they are technically for gen 1 but they fit on Gen 2 just fine.

after a week of rain and a week of applying the jessup grip tape ($2 for 1 ft at a local skate shop) i found that at first the grip tape was a little toooo grippy. but i quickly wore it down a little and it feels awesome. no annoying squeekie noise. i figure ill be using this for the time being until i do more research and save more money on getting a set of nice pedals. thanks for the recommendation above callahan00

i have a feeling the screws would be a bit too much traction. The pedals on the mini have a pivot point from the top rather than from the bottom so when i shift i actualy have a sliding motion (down the face of the clutch pedal) when pressing/depressing the clutch. If its too grippy it doesnt allow me to shift smoothly. is this an issue for you callahan00? ***hope you were able to follow my description

That is the nice thing about these pedal covers. You can adjust the height of the screws to where you want them so the grip can be as little or as much as you like.

So for instance, if you want the brake pedal to grip your foot tightly but want some slide on the clutch, simply adjust the screws.

Plus they really look great.
