Madness IC Temp Monitor

The Madness IC Temp Monitor can display temp in, temp out, or the delta. It's pretty neat, although it is a bit on the high side as far as gauges go: $269.

Having had an opportunity to see it installed in a Madness car at AMVIV, I know the package is small, but I need to know just HOW small. I would like to mount one in a 52mm gauge "cup" (which I already have, from Craven). Yes, I know it is not round, and the Craven cup IS round -- but if the whole item is small enough, I am pretty sure I can fabricate a nice looking plate to "round out" its face.

I don't want to buy this without being sure it will fit in the cup. I have e-mailed Madness, but no response from them for over two months now, so I am giving up on that.

I am hoping that one of my fellow NAMmers might have one of these and could take measurements of four dimensions:
> Overall width of the faceplate
> C-to-C distance between the holes in the faceplate
> Largest distance (diagonal?) of the box behind the faceplate
> Depth of the box behind the faceplate

Can anyone please provide these dimensions?

Thanks.

Bigger is better?

If you wanted to try it, and find that it is too big. We have 60mm and new 66mm cups that may help. I would be happy to trade you a 52mm (in good condition) for a larger one if it helps you out.

I have this kit, with 2 probes and the digital readout. The readout is made by Davtron, and I did some research on the unit and the probes with the manufacturers. The guage here: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalo...davtronOAT.php is the same size, just not the exact meter. But the link has all the dimension you need, I believe.

cheers,

FYI, it will fit. I might do the same with the center gauge pod but I may just make my own plate. If you mount it in a gauge cup you will have to round the face plate and you will have two spaces tofill above and below the gauge. You could make a new round face plate as it is held on with screws. BTW, I bought mine on ebay for $199. Let me know if you need any more info on l X w
