Sure, how can it be any worse, right? And yes lifetime replacement right? But this is not an easy part to replace if the metal fails. Damn to heck this coolant system N18 lol.
The black version has been on the market for some time. We have a red one that just came out in December. (Wish i had that color as my engine bay parts are red). They are doing very well, I have the black prototype on my car. Also another one of employees have the black version on his 2011 R56 Cooper S. The plastic version on mine broke when we went to install the our metal one. This saved our cars from being stranded.
I got the red ecs pipe and when installing, it doesn't fit flush into the water pump housing. It is flush in some spots but offset in others. Is this a normal fit? If I put the water pump side in first, it will sit flush but then I can't get the t-stat housing to push all the way in. It's almost like the pipe is a couple mm short. Anyone else have this issue? I have a 2014 countryman s.
