Maybe the motor for the lock mechanism is dead.

Did you check the fuse?

And.... It didn't fix the issue? Unplug the motor and apply 12 volts and see if it clicks... So you know if it's the motor versus the circuit.

I removed the motor and direct wired it to the battery. It worked all 5 times I tried. All the wiring checks out all the way to the plug. Something is wrong from the boot/trunk to wherever it gets power. All the wiring in the rubber sleeve is intact.

Thank you for taking the time to answer this thread.

Ok so it's not getting 12 volts... Did you check the relay?

I use a LoadPro which loads the circuit to see if it truly is carrying enough voltage. Any minor corrosion will cause a circuit failure even though it shows continuity.

In my case (2015 Countryman), the solution was to replace the trunk/tailgate bumper antenna.

Search for: Mini Cooper B1MISA-Bumper Antenna 61-35-6-922-212.

Yep thats the one that fits under the bumper for people with comfort access. Once you fix that the comfort access will work and unlock the tail gate. Most MINIs dont have the CA option. Also Make sure if you have CA that the battery in the key fob remote (second one) is new.

Here are the male plug and wires if that side is bad on the harness. Works on Gen 1 and Gen 2 MINIs.

And

https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Sit...h/61130005197/ x 3 for the cars with 0.2-0.5m pins

or

https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Sit...h/61130056960/ x 2 (2 pins on one wire) for pin 0.75mm size.

Just had a person call in and they asked for the connection side as these plugs get damaged and corroded. I dug around and fitted the plug to a Gen 2 MINI trunk lid grip and it fits. Its not on the MINI ETK as a part that works, Just for the Gen 1 MINIs. Hopefully that helps repair some of these.

oh thats awesome.

This kind of stuff is harder to find on automobiles. In the truck world they sell every imaginable pigtail and connector because guys run their trucks for 20-30 years plus.
