R56 Trunk grab handle switch dead
Trunk grab handle switch dead
Ok, first real problem...
The trunk will not open if I try to use the grab handle.
Yes, I have comfort access, and the doors all work. The key fob will pop the trunk, so I assume that the grab handle switch is bad.
My question is, is there a cheaper fix than buying a new $210 grab handle?
I removed the handle and can't figure out how to open it up without destroying it..

In the middle of a major repair, and I can't open my hatchback to get stuff out. I'm guessing it's because the battery is disconnected, and the mechanism is electric, not mechanical. You might want to check for a blown fuse or disconnected / broken wire.
Common problem! You must little bit destroying it,just twist the screwdriver or something a suitable tool between the body and backcover.Mine cover came off really easily and to reveal the micro-switch which was not fit properly.A small drop of glue to the frame of switch and gasketglue keeps cover back to handleframe. It`s very easy job! In Finland is really weird pricing, unpainted is expensive than chrome version! And carbon fiber is almost three times more expensive...
